Anyone wishing to watch and listen to a bit of the cornucopia that is the last 7 years of noise making here - welcome to my YouTube channel.

I have certainly enjoyed creating these films as a visual link to some of the noises we have collectively made up to this point - they include three or four household name artist’s that I’ve had the pleasure of driving nuts - obviously there are many more works to be added to this colourful cannon.

I have added another photo that I took back in 1984 of some Nepalese people living on the side of the road to Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath is one of Kathmandu's Buddhist temples, built in 460 AD.

These people (mostly women and children) spend their days like this, living on nothing, permanently defleaing each other and yet, they always seemed to be some of the happiest people I have ever met.

This speaks multitudes for us westerners!

Whilst rummaging through boxes of my family's and my own life, all now stacked neatly in our storeroom, I came upon this photo. It was taken by errrm? a Nepalese or Tibetan guru? who knows?

Back in 1984 when I was living in Kathmandu, Nepal.
For a couple of days before leaving the capital city to go live in the Chitwan Valley jungle for a while, 'I did go a trekking', over three mountain ranges in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains. I climbed three thousand feet above sea level - well it was so high and the air was so thin I was seeing everything double.

The trek eventually took me to a tiny distant village, the home of the parents of Pye. Pye was one of our servants in the wing of the Shah's palace which we had rented for our nine month stay in the land of the Sherpa, the 1960's hippie trail, the land of temples, monkeys, lepers and endless prayer flags.

The smoking of Nepalese temple balls was common in Kathmandu, along with he**in, child prostitutes and a multitude of other obscene lifestyles (especially within the Nepalese Royal Family) - but at that time I much preferred smoking sensimilla - (concentrated cannabinoids and terpenes without seeds) - beats the arse off getting pi**ed out of one's skull by swilling back gallons of beer any day - well that's what I figured then! (silly boy!)

It was 1985 and I had just been working with Elvis Costello and Loudon Wainwright 3rd as their producer in a recording studio in west London - although Declan's guitar was way out of tune it was his facial expression, that of somewhat inebriated concentration on his performance that I remember.

The song was the Richard Thompson song, 'Nothing at The End of The Rainbow'

Also further inspiration for 'Shh' came from seeing many singer songwriter guitar players in small folk clubs in pubs with irritatingly noisy, background clientele.

The male character at the bottom left was a 'boss-eyed' guy I used to see wandering around Harrow shopping centre in the 1980's - every time he passed by me I never knew if he was looking at me or straight ahead.

- Well it might be bigger than mine, but mine has definitely got much better jokes in it' !
