NYKS hold Neighbourhood Youth Parliament at SKC GDC Poonch.

NYK Poonch under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India organised a Nega Parliament at SKC GDC Poonch. The Program was presided over by Madam Tazeem Akhter, Chairperson DDC Poonch. Dr Shamim Ahmed Banday, Convenor Cultural Committee SKC GDC Poonch and Mohd Shafiq coordinated the entire program.

A large number of youth participated in the program. The highlight of the program was a Mock Parliament which enthralled the audience. This was aimed at inculcating the values of Meaningful Debate and Discussion among the youth and promoting among them the concept of exchange of ideas. Parliament comprising of Ruling Side and Opposition was created. A Parliament like debate was held amongst the students to aware them about the functioning of Parliament and the Parliamentary Procedures.

The entire staff of SKC GDC Poonch remained present during the program. Prominent among those present were Prof Dr Aurangzeb Anjum Officiating Principal, SKC GDC Poonch, Prof Dr Ghulam Abbass, Sh Shafeeq Malik JKAS District Treasury Officer Poonch, Sh Mohd Rafiq Deputy Director Employment and Adv Bhanu Partap Deputy Chief, Legal Aid Counsel Poonch. The Faculty of the college appreciated the theme and concept of the program and asked NYKS to conducted more such programs for the youth.

Chief Guest while presenting her presidential remarks appreciated the concept of the Youth Parliament and said that Continuous Exchange of ideas are key to vibrant democracy. She further stated that youth should be made aware about these concepts.

On the occasion, enlightening and highly motivating Keynote address were deliberated by Prof Dr Shamim Ahmed Banday, Convenor Cultural Committee and Head Dept of Zoology and Ltnt Dr Yougish Kumar Sharma NCC Officer and Head Dept of Philosophy. Dr Shamim said that youth should aspire to achieve greater heights in their lives without heeding to the obstructions.

Dr Aurangzeb Anjum also presented an address to the young participants and appreciated the concept of Mock Parliament. The entire program was organised under the supervision of Nitin Hangloo.

Expresses gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister and UT Administration for empowering the Pahari Community



Jammu, February 29: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today interacted with the representatives of Pahari Tribe ST Forum from different parts of Rajouri and Poonch districts at Raj Bhawan.

The members of the delegation led by Sh Vinod Gupta expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Lt Governor-led J&K Administration for fulfilling their commitment and extending the benefits of Scheduled Tribes to the Pahari population.

Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Rajouri formally launches Meri Mati Mera Desh program in District Rajouri. Veer Naris and Ex-Servicemen felicitated.

Meri Mati Mera Desh - Mati ko Naman Veeron ka Vandan program was today launched in Dist Rajouri. Any program held here at conference hall, Dak Bungalow Rajouri, Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri felicitated the gallantry awardees, Veer Naris and ex-servicemen / retired paramilitary personnel. Sh Vikas Kundal IAS, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri was the Chief Guest while Sh Amritpal Singh IPS SSP Rajouri was the Guest of Honour. The program was graced by Sh Anil Tigga Commandant Adm SHQ Rajouri, Sh Nisith Upadhyay Commandant 79th Bn BSF Rajouri, Lt Col Madhur Verma 2 IC 225 Fd Regiment Artillery, Sh Anil Kr Lal 2 IC BSF Rajouri, Sh Kapil Dev Dy Commandant CRPF Rajouri among others.

The Chief Guest while speaking on the occasion said that Meri Mati Mera Desh - Mati ko Naman Veeron ka Vandan is a national program in which 75 saplings shall be planted in each panchayat of the nation and Amrit Vatikas shall be created in which Shilaphalakam shall be erected on which names of Veers shall also be inscribed. In each panchayat, Galantry Awardees, Veer Naris, ExServicemen, Retd Personnel shall also be honoured.

Nitin Hangloo District Youth Officer NYKS Rajouri while speaking on the event said that as part of the closing ceremony of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Meri Mati Mera Desh is being organised throughout the nation through Jan Bhagidari. On this event Amrit Vatikas shall be created in each and every panchayat of the nation from 9th to 15th of August. From 6th August onwards, Mitti Kalash shall be collected from Panchayats amd sent to Block Level after which they will be further moved to National Capital where a Mega Program shall be organised from 28-30 August with participation of 7500 youth from across the nation who shall be addressed by Hon’ble Prime Minister at Kartavyapath. He further requested the BSF and CRPF to coordinate in various programs involving youth in various programs so that the youth stay away from negative and disruptive forces.

The District Level Program witnessed felicitation of Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naaris, Ex Servicemen, Retired Paramilitary Personnel from Army, BSF and CRPF. A ceremonial plantation drive was also held in the Dak bungalow Complex. Later, each participant was also given a Sapling.

Sh Anil Tigga while speaking on the event, said that the BSF is committed to coordinate and effectively ensure the success of Mary Martin Mera Desh. He further said that the BSF is collaborating with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in ensuring that plantation drives are held in each and every Panchayat of the nation of the district. He also said that in future also coordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan shall be continued for the overall well-being and involvement of youth of the District in nation building.

Sh Nisith Upadhay also expressed gratitude towards NYKS and District Administration for felicitating the Gallantry Awardees, Veer Naris, Ex Sericemen and Retd Paramilitary Personnel of the district. He further extended his full cooperation in Civic Action Programs to involve Youth Clubs of NYKS in various Nation Building Activities.
In the conclusion, a plantation drive was held to commemorate the inauguaral of Meri Mati Mera Desh - Mati ko Naman Veeron Ka Vandan program.

The proceedings of the event were smoothly conducted by Sh Vikrant Sharma, National Youth Awardee assisted by Sh Sadhu Ram Salgotra, National Youth Volunteers of the district and Youth club Members.

*Director Finance, His Wife, Son killed; daughter injured in accident on Mughal road*

Ranbir Singh Bali, Director of Finance, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, his wife and son died and his daughter was injured after a vehicle they were travelling in fell into gorge near Pannar bridge along Mughal road on Sunday.the accident took place at 1940 hours when a swift car (JK02BD -4635) on way to Surankote from Kashmir Valley via Mughal road. Three among those travelling in the car died on the spot and another was injured and evacuated to nearby hospital by rescuers including locals and police.
The deceased have been identified as Ranbir Singh Bali (Director of Finance, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department), his wife Parvinder Kour and son Irvan Singh. Condition of his daughter Mahreen Kour is stated to be out of danger. So far, they said, body of Parvinder Kour has been retrieved, they said.

Secretary Pahari Advisory Board held comprehensive tour of Rajouri-Poonch.

Besides inspection of Hostels also addressed several delegations

Secretary Advisory Board for the development of Pahari Ethnic People Ms.Sapna Kotwal held comprehensive four days tour of Rajouri Poonch twin border districts where 74% Pahari Ethnic People resides. During the tour besides inspection of Boys and Girls Pahari Hostels Ms. Sapna Kotwal also met several delegations and leaders of Pahari Ethnic People.

After the inspection and accessing the situation of Boys and Girls Pahari Hostels, Rajouri Ms Sapna Kotwal also met Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shri Vikas Kundal(IAS) and raised the issues of Hostels and stressed for their early resolution. DC Rajouri has assured to resolve all genuine concerns at earliest as the GOI is very much concerned for the emancipation of ethnic/ tribal persons.

The delegation of Pahari Tribe ST Forum mainly comprising Shakti Sharma, Nikhil Gupta, Muneer Mirza, Vishal Pahari, Ahmed Khan and Nissar Mirza met Secretary Ms. Sapna Kotwal and raised issues of concern related to Pahari Ethnic People and Pahari Advisory Board. The major issues includes to re constitute Pahari Advisory Board and to take proportionate members from every constituency of defined Pahari Ethnic area, timely disbursement of Post Matric Scholarship, approval and construction of atleast 10 new hostels including Girls Pahari Hostel at Jammu and Srinagar, making conditions and provisions to promote and protect the culture, folk and literature of Pahari Ethnic People, at earliest to rename Board from Speaking to Ethnic people and many more. Secretary PAB Ms. Sapna Kotwal while responding assured to resolve the issues in her domain and also promised to highlight the demands in front of concerned quarters and also vowed to work with full commitment for the empowerment of Pahari Tribe of J&K.

Earlier District President BJP Dinesh Sharma along with senior leaders including Rajinder Sharma, Bharat Vaid, Tanveer Malik and Yogesh Sharma also met Secretary PAB.

At Rajouri the whole programme was managed by Hameed Malik(Warden Boys Pahari Hostel), Rajinder Sharma(Asst Warden) and Nasreen Tabassum (Warden Girls Hostel) while the proceedings of the programme was managed by Vikrant Sharma(Pahari Activist/Supporting Staff Boys Pahari Hostel, Rajouri).

Those who accompanied Secretary PAB at Poonch includes Hameed Malik, Rajinder Sharma and Vikrant Sharma. At Poonch delegation of PT ST Forum which welcomed and met Ms. Sapna Kotwal mainly comprised Sanjeev Sharma, Dr. Sarfraz Ahmed, Nusrat Shah, Sd. Surjan Singh, Adv. 13 from Jammu, 3 from Kashmir qualify Civil Services Exam

JAMMU : At least 16 aspirants from J&K Union Territory, 13 from Jammu and three from Kashmir, have cracked the Civil Services Examination 2022, the results of which was declared today by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Wasim Ahmad Bhat from Dooru in Anantnag, Parsanjeet Kour from Poonch and Nittin Singh from Kathua have secured 7th, 11th and 32nd rank, respectively.
Others, who have qualified the UPSC, are Naved Ashan Bhat from Sopore (84th rank), Ambika Raina (164th rank), Namneet Singh from R S Pura (191), Manan Bhat of Soura in Srinagar (231), Arjun Gupta from Trikuta Nagar Jammu (228), Manil Bejotra from Bishnah in Jammu (314), Mohd Irfan from Thathar Bantalab in Jammu (476), Dwarka Gaadhi from Bishnah in Jammu (505), Anjeet Singh of Bhalesa in Doda (565), Abhinandan Singh from Nardi Bala, Akhnoor (749), Nivranshu Hans (811) Dr Iram Choudhary from Rajouri (852) and Aadesh Basnotra (888).
Total 933 candidates have been declared qualified in the Civil Services Examination 2022 with women bagging the top four ranks. Ish*ta Kishore secured the first spot and she has been followed by Garmia Lohia, Uma Harathi N and Smriti Mishra with 2nd, 3rd and 4th rank, respectively. This is the second year in a row when women candidates got the top three ranks in the most prestigious exam.
From Jammu and Kashmir, 16 candidates have qualified the Civil Services Exam and a few of them had already cracked the UPSC or JKAS exams, earlier.
Waseem Ahmad Bhat, a 25-year-old from the Dooru area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag, who has brought laurels to J&K by securing the 7th rank in the UPSC-2022 examination, had last year secured the 225th rank and he outdid himself with an impressive performance this year.
Having completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Waseem was determined to improve his All India Rank in the UPSC. When the previous year’s results were announced, he set his sights on working harder and achieving greater success.
Expressing his joy, Waseem said, “I feel happy. I am just trying to let it sink in. It was 225 last year, and now it is 7. For this feat, the credit goes to my family and friends who stood with me in every situation.”
In a message to aspiring youngsters, Waseem emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s potential, working diligently, and striving to achieve their goals. He suggested them to make a difference by setting clear objectives and pursuing them with unwavering passion. For those interested in pursuing a career in Civil Services, Waseem stressed the need for proper guidance at the right time. He stressed that besides guidance, aspiring candidates must be willing to put in the hard work required for success.
Parsanjeet Kour, daughter of Pharmacist Nirmal Singh and Darshan Kour of Poonch, who has secured 11th rank in the Civil Services Exam in her first attempt, has desired to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir with a particular focus on the healthcare and education sector.

*14th Tribal Youth Exchange Program concludes with Plantation Drive at Jammu.*

Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India today organised the conclusion ceremony of the 14th Tribal youth exchange programme sponsored by the Ministry of Home affairs, Govt of India. Romesh Chander ADDC Jammu was the Chief Guest while Geeta Aulakh (DDC Member Phallaina Mandal) was the Guest of Honour of the Closing Ceremony. Among others present in the Closing Ceremony were Sh Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan J&K- Ladakh, Nitin Hangloo DYO Rajouri Poonch, Sh. Kavi Raj President Tawi Welfare Society (Registered), Yashpal Mangotra Gen Secretary, Nand kishore Ji host of the event.

Romesh Chander while speaking on the occasion said that the tribal youth exchange program provides an opportunity to the tribal youth to witness the rich culture and traditions of Jammu while at the same time educating them regarding various contemporary issues. He said that one of the prime focus of the govt is to saturate every welfare scheme and program and ensure that all the people get benefitted from them. He further said that promotion of self employment and entrepreneurship is the need of the hour. In the end, he appreciated the efforts of the Tawi Welfare Society in upgrading the social and economic status of the people and always working for thw society.

Nisar Ahmed Butt while speaking said that the Tribal Youth Exchange program is one of the flagship programs of the govt focusing on providing exposure to the tribal youth. He said that the 7 days event was marked by various awareness sessions, cultural events, speech contests and educational tours cm visits. He further said that the Tawi Welfare Society is working efficiently in the area with an aim to alleviate the social and economic status of the people.

Kavi Raj highlighted the activities undertaken by the Welfare Society and said that the Tawi Welfare Society is committed towards serving the common masses. He further expressed gratitude towards NYKS J&K Ladakh for choosing the welfare society for the Closing Ceremony.

Nitin Hangloo while motivating the Tribal Youth urged the youth to take these 7 days as a long lasting memory and act as ambassadors of the UT. He further said that the youth should move towards self employment and entrepreneurship and act as job providers in place of job seekers.

Plantation Drive and cleanliness drive were also held as part of the closing ceremony. Cultural performances were also performed by the Participants of the different states who presented their culture and also shared their experiences of the 7 day youth exchange program.

220 tribal youth including escorting staff from paramilitary forces were on a 7 day visit to the UT. At the last, all participants got certificates of participation. All participants were also provided a group photograph as souvenir. Tge proceedings were successfully coducted by Samriti Salathia, NYV Samba

*District Level 30th National Children Science Congress-2022 concludes at DIET Rajouri*

District Level *30th National Children Science Congress (NCSC)-2022, themed “Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well-being”* was hosted by DIET Rajouri on *10th December 2022* under the supervision of *Mrs. Shailesh Kumari* Chief Education Officer Rajouri.
*Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Raina District academic coordinator NCSC* welcomed the gathering and explained how NCSC inculcates scientific temperament and curiosity among the young minds and stretches their imagination.
In all *Twenty Projects* were presented by students of Government as well as Private Schools brought from different Educational Zones of the District before the judges on various sub themes viz *Know your ecosystem, Fostering health, nutrition and well-being, Social and cultural practices for ecosystem and health, Ecosystem based approach for self-reliance and Technological innovation for ecosystem and health*, under two different categories *Juniors (10 to less than 14 years) and Seniors (14 to less than 17 years)*. The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges including *Mr. Tanveer Ahmed Mir HOD DIET Rajouri, Dr. Saba Mughal Senior Lecturer Botany DIET Srinagar and Dr. Sachin Kumar Lecturer Environmental Science*.
*Mr. Tanveer Ahmed Mir HOD* in his speech congradulated all the teams and their guide teachers, the way they have done their projects of higher level. He advised the young scientists to work hard and build career in prestigious institutions of the country. He praised the NCSC team from Rajouri in making the event a great success.
*Mrs. Shailesh Kumari, Chief Education Officer Rajouri* was the Chief guest on the occasion. She in her address thanked all the participants and their mentors for taking pain in guiding their students in completing the projects well in time as per the guideline from *National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology Government of India*. She encouraged the budding scientists and gave them special appreciation. She asked all the teaching faculty sitting over there to bring out best in students.
Top three projects, one from Juniors group & two from Seniors group were selected for the State level. *The teams whose projects were selected include Amit Singh and Manmeet Singh from Third Millinium Public HSS Nowshera, Aarush Dev Sharma and Ketan Kumar Sharma from BHSS Sunderbani and Azra Kareem and Rozia Kosser from Girls HSS Darhal*. They were awarded with certificates of achievement and souvenirs. These teams will participate in *State Level Competition to be held at Tiny Tots Secondary School Sainik Colony Jammu on 13th December 2022*.
The remaing participants and their guide teachers were awarded with certificates of participation. *DIET Faculty members including Mr. Suresh Kumar HOD, Mr. Rajesh Kumar HOD, Mr. Mohd Sarwar, Mr. Anwaar-Ul-Sadaat, Mr. Naseem Bhatti, Mr. Maqbool Hussain, Dr. Zarina Akhter, Mrs. Tabassum Mirza* were also present in the programme. The programme was facilitated by *Mr. Umesh Kumar*. All the participants including students, their guides, escorts, guests and faculty members were served with tea and lunch.The programme ended with vote of thanks from *Mr. Ranjeet Kumar District coordinator NCSC*.
