We did it! We bought the colored vinyl record of Ìxtahuele’s “Pagan Rites”! And we made our Mai Tais in our new tiki mugs! One of the designs is inspired by Papua New Guinea and the other by Micronesian (or is it Melanesian?) art! Well, no matter! It’s tiki all the way, baby! 🗿😸

Because we love jazz…and we know a lot of our listeners do, too, we’re sharing that today we remember the amazing guitarist Pat Martino on his heavenly birthday. A near-fatal seizure, due to an aneurysm left him with amnesia and no recollection of how he played the guitar. Pat had to learn to play it all over again after he recovered!

In case you ever wonder what we do when we’re not doing shows: In between school, work, performing in a Brazilian jazz band, and rock band, two in our family are in The Rio Grande Symphonic Band (not me, lol!) Tonight’s theme: “Music From The Movies”! They start off the medley with Mission Impossible and end with Raiders of the Lost Ark! So proud of Mr. C (on percussion) & our daughter (on flute) for sticking it out during the monsoon for as long as they could! 👏🎵🥰
