Key West was the first stop on our family cruise 🚢 .
Key West is the southernmost of the Florida Keys and the entire US and is only 90 miles from Cuba. It’s a fun town with a lot of party vibes and coral reefs.
I took a road trip down the Keys with my mom and grandparents 10+ years ago and definitely want to do it again. It’s such a unique experience to take a few days to slowly drive down Key to Key. It’s a little over 3 hour drive from Miami to Key West but each key offers its own vibes and charm. I loved pulling off the road to snorkel at good spots along the way and stay a night or 2 at a relaxing hotel on the beach along the way.
Must do’s in Key West:
🤤 Try all the Key Lime treats: Key Lime Pie of course, but also ice cream, hard candies, cheesecakes, drinks, smoothies etc.
🤿 Book a snorkeling trip- the snorkeling is supposed to have beautiful sea life with coral reefs. The day we went the water was super rough and then a storm came in so it wasn’t great snorkeling.
👣Walk around Duval Street exploring the beautiful architecture, shops, bars and restaurants.
🌅 Key West knows how to sunset!! It’s quite an event with the town coming alive to celebrate and enjoy the sunset every night. Don’t miss it.
