Local Lounge

Local Lounge Promoting Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area music! The Local Lounge got its start as a radio show on 103.1 KCDA circa 2005 under the legendary Sam Hill and Stella Mar.

It was a local artist feature, bringing original, independent musicians from the Spokane, WA and Coeur d'Alene, ID area into the studio. The artists themselves would host the half-hour show every Sunday night at 10, spinning their album tracks and playing some acoustic songs. Matt Loi took over in the Summer of 2007 and gradually expanded the Local Lounge significantly. Soon each artist would get

a video of one song and the audio from the entire show would be posted online. Eventually entire bands would take advantage of the expanded studio space, bringing in amps and drums for the full live experience. By 2015, the home station had changed to the point where such an eclectic program no longer fit in. Since then, the spirit of the Local Lounge has lived on in the many photos of Inland Northwest musicians that Matt takes and posts on the Local Lounge Instagram, as he sees nearly 200 performances a year on average. What will the Local Lounge become? Matt Loi has some big plans: stick around and find out!
