Rhys Langston x Pioneer 11 have launched the first single from their forthcoming collaborative album, To Operate This System.

Today, the trio shares “Amber Deception” with the good folks at Stereogum in an “attempt to become one with the wires and bytes – to fuse the cherished qualities of humanity (soul, groove, unpredictability) with the power of the matrix.”

Mastered by Daddy Kev, the album is due out on P.O.W. Recordings July 26th.

April’s Pangea is ‘Nandez’s most formally accomplished project and the first to feature so many collaborators. Recorded in the summer of 2020 and produced by Tony Seltzer (Wiki, MIKE, Princess Nokia), it’s a knocking and propulsive time capsule, the features from rising NY city rappers like YL and Radamiz a testament to ‘Nandez’s continued efforts to build his artistic circle.

Pointed darts (“Context”) bump next to bouncing flexes that should be rattling Jeeps and club speakers in every borough (“Risk”). ‘Nandez also delivers a drug-addled memoir that feels like watching someone Harlem shake to Requiem for a Dream (“Transactions”). "Tramaine’s debut mixtape, set for release later this year through POW Recordings, is called Through Hell and High Waters and reflects on the tumult of his upbringing. But the project has more to say than hardship, recognizing the rewards that perseverance brings.

'I feel like every time you hear somebody say they went through hell and high water, it’s past tense,” he says. “Things are a little bit better, more sunny by the time they say that.'"

“We’re dealing with an art form that’s literally coming up on 50 years plus,” says. “Back in the day, it was hip-hop in certain venues on certain nights at certain times, but now you’re not going to hear a song that doesn’t have a hip-hop influence.
