Some marketing and SMM thoughts for you today:

For the love of all that’s holy, left align large bodies of text in your content, please! Your readers are begging for this! (Or rather your lack of readers 🫢)

Safeguard your brand identity like your life depends on it. Because your brands life DOES depend on it. This includes visuals, logo usage, voice. Etc. A great SOP will help you here.

If you’re in marketing, I want you to learn this sentence: “Yes! I’d love to elevate this idea and concept AND…” It’s literally that simple to keep your clients happy. It’s your job to be creative and pull it off. The top notch marketers can. THIS allows your client to know you are open to their ideas - which is like, the whole point you exist in your role. Lol. I have so much more to say on this topic, so stay tuned for more rants on this.

I love how things have come full circle… buckle up I’m getting feels-y & dishing out some inspo that you need today…

My BS in BS (as I call it - Biological Sciences degree) isn’t a waste anymore.

My aspiration to be a sports med doc turned sports med PA (that never happened due to not testing well) isn’t a wash anymore.

My adhd and overly creative brain isn’t an Achilles heel anymore.

My love for creating community around brands and empowering others through allowing them to be SEEN & HEARD is happening daily.

My journey is making sense.

It sucked big time in the thick of it. Getting JUST BARELY average on my MCAT, TWICE was a blow.

Learning all the extra prereqs I needed for PA school was a blow.

The dropping out of the entrepreneur race because I was exhausted and tired of the excuses was full of shame for me.

But now…

I’m not ashamed. I’m freaking proud. I’m proud of every plunder along my path. It created resilience I could have never learned otherwise.

I get to use all of my sciencey background and love for sports medicine daily in a role I’m absolutely honored to have. This self taught marketer is ready to do some things y’all!

Remember. Trusting the process sucks, but it’s worth it.

This past week was a very big deal. Very symbolic of transformation and profound growth that can happen if you are determined, willing, and can communicate.

It’s been tough with a toddler, a husband in his MBA and also working the jobs of 3 people (lol), in addition to everything you already know about me.

John told me something this weekend that has probably topped the list as the best compliment I’ve ever received. He shared with me that my business, that I created out of nothing, set the stage for and fueled my current role I now have.

Was this the plan I had set out for? No, I didn’t really have a plan other than wanting (needing) to contribute to my family. Am I wildly excited for the growth and real world knowledge I’ll be gaining as part of this team? You bet your bottom!

To say the last 18 months have been tough would be an understatement (and add a pandemic on top of it, too lol) but I’ve felt more like myself than I have in quite some time.

So, while I may not seem very present on social (in comparison to before and trying to stay relevant) just know im still here - growing, cheering you on, and providing off the wall tips and content help. Just ask 😘

P.S. if you haven’t seen Encanto yet, you need to. I resonate so much with Maribel - maybe I’ll do one of my Disney/Biz/motivation posts like my infamous Moana one 😆… stay tuned.

It counts even if it never made its way into text or onto paper. If you ever even thought it, it’s limiting you.

That simple little word “only” is downplaying all the hard work you’ve put in to accomplish exactly what you were recollecting - that piece of your journey towards your goal…

“Only” is giving the indication that it’s not enough - breeding a limiting belief in your mind that your goals are too far away.

The reality is: your goals should be a ways away! It’s all about the journey to them!

So in 2022, be more intentional about the verbiage you allow yourself to THINK! They matter too 😘

Ironically I’m about to share some $$ too. 😆

This year, I only paid myself $19k. Do you know how much you paid YOURSELF? Not what your biz gross netted this year.

And I feel the same way as you felt about it when you read it just now. 😨

I did however also:
Pay multiple 5 figures to other female business owners this year and I proved that I could invest in my business and fuel others’ businesses too. The healthy ecosystem of online entrepreneurship. 😍

But just barely paying myself $19k for the ENTIRE YEAR was a kick in the throat. Especially with how lean and mean I run things.

Online entrepreneurship is changing.
Mine is changing.
