Went to visit the matriarch this weekend. One of my favorite things in the whole world is sitting with her in her study, looking at her collection of journals, books, and things that matter to her. As she continues to lose interest and ability in paging through a book, the shelves become more bare. I get it. I can’t imagine losing the ability to do your favorite things in the whole world- that made you, you: and have those things taunting your around every corner of your home. Her collection isn’t gone, but sitting here is different. But different is okay. Cause we were still together.
