Scunthorpe Rock Open The North of England's premier battle of the Bands competition, now in its 43rd year.

If you or your band would like to enter the 2025 version of the competition, drop us a line at [email protected] The Rock Open runs throughout September, October and November at The Lincoln Imp in Scunthorpe, and is open to bands of all genres (not just rock!) who play their own material. Bands will be judged during a 20 minute set by a panel of independent judges.

Wow! a lot of people out last night at The Black Beauty Scunthorpe for Scunthorpe Rock Open 2025 - Heat 3 - it's great to see all your faces...and without you all we wouldn't have a show. 👏👏👏

Well, what can we say about the Scunthorpe Rock Open Heat 3 last night...the bands, the crowd, the heat!

Heat 3 certainly felt like a proper gig...'like a Western'...with four proper bands, who left nothing back in green room. Yep, it's fair to
say, all the bands left everything out on the somewhat 'cosy' (we love it btw)) The Black Beauty Scunthorpe stage.

As ever though, only two bands can go through to the Spooky Semi Finals in October - and by a narrow margin, the two bands going through are The Dominos and Shoot the Messenger...huge congratulations to them!

And, commiserations must go to Ted Moult Fan Club and The Chains Length,
who both gave very good accounts of themselves.
