Plume Plume is a magazine dedicated to publishing the very best of contemporary poetry. A new online magazine devoted to the very best in contemporary poetry.

To that end, we will be highly selective, offering twelve poets per monthly issue. Our inaugural issue features new poetry from Rae Armantrout, Stuart Dybek, Terese Svoboda, and many others.

Readers -- I am very pleased to report that the poet, writer and scholar Ramón García will be joining Plume’s staff as Associate Editor beginning this month. You can find Ramón’s impressive biography note below. He will be working on Featured Selection interviews and various such compendia, essays, and – I hope – offering his own poetry every now and then. We are very fortunate to have him aboard, as I am sure you will soon discover yourselves, dear readers. Welcome, Ramón!

Ramón García is the author of two books of poetry The Chronicles (Red Hen Press, 2015) and Other Countries (What Books Press, 2010), a monograph on the artist Ricardo Valverde (University of Minnesota Press, 2013) and a chapbook Strays (Foundlings Press, 2021). His poetry has appeared in a variety of journals and anthologies, including circulo de poesía, the Best American Poetry anthology, The Floating Borderlands: Twenty-Five Years of US-Hispanic Literature, The Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB), Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas, Gulf Coast and Plume. He is Vice-President of the Board of Trustees at Beyond Baroque Literary Center in Venice, California. He teaches at California State University, Northridge and lives in Los Angeles.

Poetry is also ruled by interactions: between words, between word, sound and meaning, and more. Both science and poetry are in search of language; they name things, enlarge, and create language realms."

~Tzveta Sofronieva, author of "Multiverse" (2020), a collection of new and selected poems written originally in German, Bulgarian, and English. In our featured selection this month, she's in conversation with Ian Haight.

DENNIS NURSKE'S twelfth poetry collection, A COUNTRY OF STRANGERS, a “new and selected,” was published by Knopf in 2022. His poetry has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, three Pushcart Prizes and appeared in six editions of Best American Poetry, The New Yorker, Poetry and The Paris Review. Dennis has also worked in human rights, served a term on the board of Amnesty International-USA and taught at Rikers Island. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Beth Bosworth and the wild puppy Zephyr.
DANIEL LAWLESS is the author of The Gun My Sister Killed Herself With; his current book, I Tell You This Now, will be released in March 2024. Recent poems appear in FIELD, Barrow Street, Prairie Schooner, Ploughshares, Poetry International, Los Angeles Review, upsteet, SOLSTICE, Manhattan Review, Massachusetts Review, JAMA and Dreaming Awake: New Prose Poetry from the U.S., Australia, and the U.K., among others. A recipient of a continuing Shifting Foundation grant, he is the founder and editor of Plume: A Journal of Contemporary Poetry, Plume Editions, and the annual Plume Poetry anthologies.

Poetry at The Dalí is an ongoing series hosted by former poet laureate of St. Petersburg, Helen Pruitt Wallace, on the second Thursday of each month.
