My Hot Music My Hot Music is an exciting new music site and blog. We're passionate about great music. My Hot Music is an exciting new music company.

We have our own label but we also market and distribute for independent artists and aim to address a common problem within the DIY artist community, marketing. Digital distribution is not new and independents have always been able to tap into it. Affordable marketing and promotion has always been a problem for many but we are savvy enough to know how to get round this. My Hot Music began its incar

nation as a music blog, reviewing music releases and commenting other music industry news. Over the years we noticed that the advent of digital distribution has not made the impact independents wanted and in fact now the charts are more dominated by major label acts and the independent sector has found itself on the wrong side of the negotiations table with the likes of Apple, Google and Amazon, despite Merlin, Impala and AIM's sterling work. Rather than look at this as a negative, we prefer to look at the opportunities for independent artists. This is a great time to make music, there are heaps of resources available and opportunities but the basics need to be there. You still need hit songs and you still need a marketing budget. Fortunately we know what needs to be done and the steps to take to get your music heard. Our approach is to start from an a&r perspective, not with a short term approach but one that will enable artists to develop and grow at their own pace and own style. There is a market for everything no matter how small or large. It is all about consolidation and scale. Artists need to grow over time into their full potential. In this digital age there are new rules to follow and we feel the majors are not able to take full advantage of the opportunities that abound for artists. We would like to hear from independent artists, producers, songwriters and also videographers, photographers and anyone else who has an interest in music. Facebook to ban bands from sharing their music? From the 1st of October, you will not be able to share your music on Facebook. You could also have your band page deleted and banned. That's according to an article by Loudwire published yesterday Sept 12, 2020.
