As I count down to my last days at ABC12, let’s take a look back! This was one of my favorite stories to tell.

Lapeer’s Denise Becker was reunited with an art project made by her late daughter after being drawn to it at a local rummage sale. It’s a story that I’m so honored I was able to tell.

Do you have a favorite story from my time at ABC12?

As I enter my final week at ABC12, I'm taking a look back at some of my favorite and most memorable stories.

This is one about Denise Becker, a Lapeer mother who was reunited with a bowl made by her late daughter after being drawn to it at a rummage sale. It's a powerful story that continues to stick with me years later!

I'll be combing through the archives this week to find some more favorites. Do you have any favorite stories from my time at ABC12?

🚨LIFE UPDATE🚨
After more than half of a decade working for ABC12– I have decided to move on from news. This was not an easy decision, but in news your personal life often takes a backseat to the newsroom— I want to change that. I have had the privilege of telling thousands of incredible stories in the industry I dreamed of working in for so many years. I was one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to work in the community I grew up in and alongside some of the journalists I grew up admiring. I grew up at ABC12 and many of the people in the building helped shape me from a goofy 22 year old kid, into the person I am today. Simply put— this was my dream job, but dreams change. Now, I’m excited to pursue new dreams and new challenges. I am ready for the next chapter and am so excited to experience life outside of news. I will miss the hustle and bustle of breaking news, my talented co-workers, and of course the courageous people who have allowed me to share their stories. My last day at ABC12 will be Friday, March 4th. Thank you for always supporting me.❤️

Very honored to be name the American Traffic Safety Services Association’s ‘National Media Award Winner.’ I’ve been very lucky to tell hundreds of important stories over the years— many about our roadways. Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me on my journey!

Important information for tomorrow!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
Due to the high forecasted temperature and humidity on race day, we are adjusting our start time windows for the 10 Mile, 5 Mile, 5K, and Michigan Mile this Saturday. We want to make sure we can provide the safest and healthiest environment for all our racers and volunteers.

PLEASE DISREGARD YOUR ORIGINALLY ASSIGNED START TIME WINDOW.
Instead of a specific 15 minute window, we're asking all our racers to report to the start line BASED ON YOUR EVENT ONLY!

Updated Start Time Schedule
6:45am - 10 Mile Wheelers & Hand Cyclists
6:55am - 30 & 40 Year Racers
7am - 8am: 10 Mile Start
8:30am - 9am: 5 Mile Start
9:30am - 10am: 5K Start
10:30am - 11am: Michigan Mile Start

Racers that arrive late to the start line WILL STILL BE ABLE TO START their race. We are simply trying to allow more racers to start earlier in the day to avoid the extreme heat.

PLEASE SHARE THIS TO HELP SPREAD THE WORD TO OTHER RACERS.

What a story! Looking at the bricks, it's hard to imagine someone laying them by hand, but thats exactly what Peter Asaro did-- and now his great-grandson runs those same bricks during the Crim Festival of Races.

Ron Allard returns to Flint most years to run the Crim on the same street his great grandfather once laid bricks to create a city.
