The Hillsboro Inlet Park in Pompano Beach, across from the Hillsboro Lighthouse, has been renamed the Roy L. Rogers Family Park. The Pompano Beach City Commission unanimously approved the renaming of the park in recognition of the many contributions Roy Rogers has made to Pompano Beach and the South Florida region through decades of public service, particularly in preserving the environment.

The City of Lighthouse Point celebrated the grand opening of its new fire station and state-of-the-art emergency operations center. The event drew nearly 300 attendees, including elected officials at the local, state and federal levels.

A project to mill and resurface the streets in the Lake Placid neighborhood of Lighthouse Point has gotten underway. The project will use approximately 1,000 tons of asphalt.
