Came ‘round a corner on the trail to South Arapahoe Peak yesterday and about 20 yards away, munching on some leaves were two, MASSIVE bull moose. One (the one closest to the camera) was an absolute UNIT. I was a bit too close for comfort but they seemed far more interested in eating than in me and I stayed (quietly) on the trail. Closing day at today. Chillier than expected but it was good to visit the first place I ever skied in Colorado. Baby Gearist shredding as per usual. Farewell (for us) inbounds ski season!
For our first game of the season yesterday, it could not have been more awesome! Peanuts, , hot dogs, , meeting , catching a foul ball (!!!!) and seeing the rally from being down 0-4 in the 7th to beating the 6-9! Truly amazing day!
Baby boy loading up and making friend at the ORTOVOX / Deuter moving sale this morning. He’s super pumped to have his very own 30L pack and chalk bag. I mean, for 2 years old, he’s kind crushin’ it!
Closing day 2023 at Vail. Blue skies, empty-ish slopes and fantastic snow (although at about 2PM the skiing went from consistent to, “I wonder if the next 10 ft of snow will be fast of slow…”). Thanks for a great season Vail and we’ll see you in the fall!
Dead legs and warmer temps made for a short backcountry ski tour today. But, with the season winding it’s way down, how could I resist?

Amazing, bluebird day to hit up Banana Bowls in . Snow is fantastic and while it’s April, I see a lot more spring skiing to come with the snow we’ve had this year! Notes:
1. The Norvik from 100Percent is perfect for ski touring. Amazing field of vision and lens clarity.
2. Blizzard Ski Zero G 105 are legit AF. Snow on the hill was amazing but in spots transitioned from fluffy to dust on crust and the control and stability is fantastic.
