Pictured above is Sunshine Coast’s Sam Proctor, a man who literally turned a holiday into change.

Residing now on the S.C of NSW, Sam has been scooping bombs regularly, like this mutant drainer above, and applying the human handbrake on each and every bloody one of them!

So strong is the pull of social media that the days of photographers holding onto their favourite images for a chance at a magazine cover are almost gone. But what if a photo is so historic, so beyond belief - does it deserve to be immortalised as a cover regardless of the ever- pressing race to publish things first? The unanimous answer from Movement HQ is, yes. You'll be all-too-familiar with Tamega's iconic Pipeline number from the 2019/20 Hawaiian season - what feels like a lifetime ago in a digital and post-COVID world; but from a slightly different perspective, it's as awe-striking as the first time we laid eyes on it as a tiny square on our phones. The new issue of Movement has finally arrived: two years in the making, sailing straight through the ferocious storm of a global pandemic. Truth be told we almost gave up on the old print legacy, but during this time your Larry Local has no doubt seen some it’s wildest waves since we can even remember - and we have the images and stories to prove it.

With travel ground to a halt, home has been thrust into the spotlight, wherever you call yours. The sharpest blades were relegated to the countries that raised them, cutting up local waves with the same fervour and grace as they would Pipeline or Chopes.

Dubbed ‘The Global Issue’, this collectors edition is a celebration of the home zones of riders and photographers both well-versed and fresh to the pages of Movement.

It’s a limited run, order it online or get it from your local bodyboard store before it sells out.
