Time Shadows 2 Demo
Time Shadows II saw the light of day yesterday, and today my full demo of it is here! EarthQuaker Devices and Death By Audio Effects made something really cool here. This pedal is SO EASY to use, giving you instant access to surreal synth and delay tones that could score your next sci-fi thriller you're working on (you are working on that Alien VS Kong movie, right?)

I don't know what it is about vibrato, but it's an effect that greatly alters my approach to playing the guitar. I suddenly find myself chasing different chord voicings and harmonies than I would with other effects types. I guess its me trying to musically translate the nostalgia that the swaying and bending airwaves instantly instil in me, and the nostalgia within the new Diamond Vibrato is just second to none. So warm, comforting and delightful to immerse yourself in.
If you didn't catch my full demo of the new Diamond Vibrato, then you can find it on YT. And if you feel like getting these beautiful nostalgic vibes on your pedalboard, then you can get this pedal and many many more over at thepedalzone.com. I'll drop links for it all in the comments below. Cheers <3
I'm down to the VERY LAST Dark Light from the new batch, who's getting it?
Get it at TPZ Shop (EU Only): https://thepedalzone.com/product/old-blood-noise-endeavors-dark-light/
What sets Dark Light apart from other reverbs out there is its immense transformative potential due to its ability to go 100% wet and its wealth of textural modulated reverb algorithms. Here I'm using it to create a swelling string arrangement fit for the end credits to your new Indie Movie project <3
Old Blood Noise Expression Ramper X3
The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Expression Ramper x3 is here, and is in stock and ready to ship over at thepedalzone.com! (Link in comments below)
This is a dream device for me. It builds on the intuitive creative nature of their original Expression Ramper, by letting you send automated expression LFOs to 3 pedals at the same time.
The cool thing is that the LFOs can be either free roaming or synced together, allowing you to create some really stunning movements that can be fully aligned via tap tempo.
In this example I use Expression Ramper X3 to send a square wave to EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3, controlling the clock for rhythmic reverberating pitch jumps. A triangle wave goes to the @oldbloodnoise Float Filter for beautiful stereo filter sweeps, and a fast square wave is sent to the EQD Avalanche Run, controlling the reverb mix, which effectively turns its stunning stereo ambience into a unique stereo tremolo.
The tempos of the Afterneath and Float filter are synced together, while the tempo of the Avalanche Run is free roaming.
This just creates a mesmerizing stereo ambient landscape that I lost several hours to. Time spent with stuff like this is always time well spent. Thank you for making my dreams come true, OBNE 😍
Did You Know Red Panda Bitmap Could Do This?
The Red Panda Bitmap 2. An 8-bit nostalgia machine, full of all the sample reduced and bitcrushed tones you would expect. But did you know that it can venture into synth-sound territories as well?
Watch the new episode of "Did You Know...?" via the link in the comments below. I'll drop a link to the TPZ Shop as well, if you want to know more about this incredible pedal. Red Panda can do no wrong!
The Death By Audio Effects Octave Clang is seriously one of the most spectacularly versatile fuzz pedals I've tried. It does warm vintage drives, woolly classic fuzz and synth-like octave tones. But what I did not expect was how amazing it is at delivering crushing modern high-gain tones. Love this pedal so much! 🔥
I'll drop links to my full demo as well as TPZ Shop in the comments below.
What's your favorite modulated reverb pedal? I recently made a little visual and sonic loveletter to a couple of modulated stereo reverbs that I would put on my board any day of the week. Source Audio Ventris, Red Panda Context2 and GFI System Skylar just rule!
Head on over to YouTube if you want to watch the full video, and remember you can get these pedals as well as learn more about them over at thepedalzone.com. I'll leave links in the comments for all of this goodness :)
New episode of "Did You Know...?" just landed on YouTube. This time I'm taking a look at the slapback secrets contained within this otherwise lush chorus/vibrato pedal.

Recently dropped the first instalment in a new video series that I like to call "Did You Know...?". We're I seek to unlock unexpected sounds from a specific pedal. In the first episode I show you how to turn the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star into a lush modulated synth-pad fit for your next ambient dream-pop project :)
Oh, and I'm down to the last two Dark Star Commemorative Editions over at the TPZ Shop. So if you want this bit of OBNE history in your collection, then now is the time!

This example from my Red Panda Radius demo is one of the most fun riffs I've ever made, and I just love how Radius gives it a massive psychedelic edge due to its automatically ramping phaser tones. FUN!
Just love how the Caroline Guitar Company Arigato lets you go from grand majestic sweeps to choppy synthetic pulses in seconds flat!
This sound from the new Death By Audio Effects Octave Clang V2 gave me instant NES soundtrack nostalgia. So I guess this is me trying to conjure some Bowser Battle Theme vibes here.
What does this sound remind you of?
The Source Audio Nemesis ADT contains so many inspiring delay sounds. I especially love its Shifter Mode for harmonized echoes.
SolidGoldFX just released AURRAS. A beautiful all-analog vibraphase with modern digital controls. Best of both worlds meeting in a swirling and twirling sonic love story here <3
The @Old Blood Noise Endeavors BL-82 Chorus packs some good old unpredictable slider fun. Chorus, Flanger, Oil-canny reverb and spooky lo-fi delay madness all exist in this device.
Meris MercuryX does a world of different reverbs, from classic vintage verbs to futuristic sci-fi sound designs. It's just incredible.
Intensive Care Audio FX Pedals Recovery Phase packs two effects in one: Phasing and Tremolo. You can use them separately or at the same time for a myriad of intricate textures. Visually stunning and tonally appealing - this pedal is a powerhouse of modulation.
Delve into deep caves of audio bliss with Dreadbox Darkness' octave down reverb. Such a prestine sounding reverb with a world of possibilities 🙌🏻
The end of the year is near. It's time to look back at 2023 and reminisce. This year has been crazy, both at the Pedal Zone and in my personal life, new online store, new babies, you name it, but I've still found time to delve into a world of amazing effects. That's why I'm happy to present my Gear of the Year 2023.
Watch the full version on Youtube.
Jamie Stillman from EarthQuaker Devices always manages to blow my mind with his dirty creations. Special Cranker defined my core drive sound in 2022, and I feel like Zoar is gonna define my sound in the years to come, or until Jamie makes another drive pedal. In short, Zoar is a versatile and inspiring drive pedal.
