This week is Part 2 of my discussion with Father Turbo Qualls. After we finished episode 217 with Fr Turbo, he and I decided we needed to talk again ASAP, and many of you let me know that you were eager to hear him on the show again. So this week, he and I got into the topic of "powers and principalities". Many of us see evil going on in this world and understand that there are forces behind the figureheads in government and corporations, but we sometimes have a hard time understanding just what these forces are. Fr Turbo does a wonderful job of breaking down the power structures, spiritual forces, tangible forces, where the true power lies, and what it all means. What are demons? Can we see them? Are they floating around, looking for someone to overtake? Are they even real, or is it just bad wiring in the brains of some folks? This is a great deep dive into all of that.

This week, my guest Katherine Dee and I discuss a couple of the topics that she has tackled in her writings over at her Default Friend blog. We discuss what she sees as a sexual counterrevolution coming our way. Katherine writes, "If there's one drum I've been beating for a minute now, it's that I believe the pendulum with sexuality is going to swing, big time. And seriously, if you guys remember me for anything, have it be this." We dive right into that, and I think it helps bridge us to our discussion on the dark nihilism that pervades our culture and leads to these terrible mass shootings we keep seeing. The Left likes to focus on guns because they understand it won't actually do any good. The Right, in reaction to that, wants the band-aid of arming teachers and/or providing more security. When nobody wants to discuss the rot within our culture, nothing will ever be done. Where does this empty nihilism come from? Katherine believes that it is the modern American enlightenment tradition of liberalism.

NPCs are all around us, and you likely have friends, coworkers, and family members who are NPCs. It's one thing to just poke fun at them and laugh, but we more so get into what forces are behind the perpetuation of the NPC, the danger they pose, and why this is happening. When one is an empty vessel, he or she can be filled with anything that the corporate and state powers-that-be want to fill that vessel with. This is a great one.

In one of my favorite conversations ever, I had Father Turbo Qualls on the show. Fr. Turbo is the rector at St. Mary of Egypt, Serbian Orthodox Church in Kansas City, Missouri, where he lives with his wife Juliana and their 8 children. As a (now retired) tattoo artist and former member of a punk rock band, Fr. Turbo grew up in Orange County, California, in the counterculture scene. That gave him a perspective that he carried through his libertarian political views and even into his Orthodox Christian view of the world.

We discuss many topics here, and Fr. Turbo really gets into the humility it takes to not only understand what is happening to us and around us, but the humility it takes to find the real Truth, and what that means. This society is wrapped up in a shallow, materialistic nihilism that makes it easy to fall into the snares of evil. To counter that -- and it is mainstream -- it takes humility and a genuine search for Truth and love.

Monica is the host of the Propaganda Report podcast and Deep Dives, with Monica Perez, where she analyzes one of the top stories of the day from a perspective of truth, liberty, and justice. Monica was a radio host for 8.5 years on WSB Radio in Atlanta before she was unceremoniously dismissed. She's more than welcome on Counterflow, and this week, we cover a litany of topics. Monica is very adept at discerning what is propaganda and what is real information. We discuss that as well as false flags and the fact that they aren't always needed. I am honored to have Justin Marler on with me this week. Justin is one of the first members of the band Sleep, as well as the creator of the 'zine "Death to the World". DTTW was an Orthodox Christian handmade magazine with a metal/punk rock aesthetic that Justin created when he was a Monk at the St. Herman's of Alaska Orthodox Monastery in Platina, CA. Justin came of age in the Bay Area punk rock scene, living with guys from Green Day and Rancid in a club/warehouse in the East Bay. They were a brotherhood united in rebelling against the norms and ways of the modern world... that was until he noticed that he was still longing for something more fulfilling and less nihilistic. He happened to meet an Orthodox Christian nun who introduced him to Orthodoxy, and his world was forever changed.
