(NASHVILLE, TN) — CCM Magazine has revealed Reach Records artist 1K Phew as the cover story for January. The Atlanta-based rapper who blends trap production with faith-based storytelling sat down with CCM Magazine for an extended interview, and taped exclusive in-studio performances that will be available exclusively on CCM's YouTube and at CCMMagazine.com.

"Being on the cover of CCM Magazine is wild to me,” says 1K Phew. "To be here now feels like a God dream! This ain’t just about me, it’s about joy, faith, and bringing people together. I want people to laugh, feel something real, and remember that the party doesn’t stop when you’re walking with purpose. I’m grateful for the moment and excited for everyone to experience what we cooked up. Happy Phew Year everybody!"

The January rollout will include exclusive content across CCM’s platforms:

Longform Cover Story & Interview Release – Wednesday, January 7
Exclusive Performance available exclusively on CCM’s YouTube channel and CCMMagazine.com – Friday, January 9
Additional bonus content will be unveiled throughout the month

"When we hear a truly unique voice at CCM Magazine, our goal is always to find the most meaningful ways for audiences to connect with that artist,” says CCM Co-Editor, Logan Sekulow. “Our cover stories spotlight legends, breakout stars, and creators we believe deserve to be seen and heard by a wider audience. While 1K Phew is no stranger to the Christian hip-hop world, his voice deserves to resonate across the entire Christian music landscape. He is authentic, honest, and unfiltered. His music and personality balance humor and heartbreak in a way that feels deeply human. We couldn’t imagine a better artist to usher in the new year than 1K Phew, our first hip-hop and gospel rap cover artist since relaunching CCM Magazine.”

Adds CCM Co-Editor, Amanda Sekulow: “The whole shoot felt like the end of the best party, confetti on the floor, noisemakers everywhere, and somehow 1K Phew was still keeping the energy alive. That became the concept. Phew brings so much joy and honesty into every room, and watching him perform live, especially ‘Move It,’ was unreal. With the song taking off again in its new version with Forrest Frank, this Cover Story feels like a party you’ll never forget."

Under new ownership, CCM Magazine relaunched in August 2025 with Christian music legend Steven Curtis Chapman on the cover, followed by cover stories featuring Megan Woods, Third Day, Katy Nichole, and Danny Gokey. With each new cover story, CCM Magazine continues its mission of honoring the artists who laid the groundwork for Contemporary Christian Music while shining a spotlight on the next generation carrying it forward. New content is released daily on the website and social media.

Originally founded in 1978, CCM Magazine was the first publication to coin the phrase “CCM” for Contemporary Christian Music, covering the Jesus Music movement and the rise of artists who would go on to define a billion-dollar industry. Under new ownership by Logan and Amanda Sekulow, CCM is reimagined for the digital age, building an interactive network of stories, interviews, performances, podcasts, and exclusive content for today’s Christian music audience.

NASHVILLE, TENN. (December 19, 2025) — Between clinching a #1 at Country Radio, packing out shows, locking down massive TV moments, and emerging as an independent powerhouse, PLATINUM Country music duo LOCASH most certainly enjoyed a monumental 2025.

Now, they’ve capped off this banner year with a string of recent accolades…

Their MULTI-WEEK No. 1 smash “Hometown Home” just landed in the Top 5 of Country Aircheck’s “Top 25 Songs of 2025,” claiming the #4 spot. Moreover, “Wrong Hearts” staked out a place in Country Aircheck’s “Top 100 of 2025.” Of course, both tunes belong to their acclaimed album Bet The Farm. The latter affirmed their songwriting and hitmaking prowess and simultaneously entrenched them as an entrepreneurial force to be reckoned with—since it’s the first record to be released by their own independent Galaxy Label Group.

Between filling venues coast-to-coast on tour, the duo notably launched a multi-faceted collaboration with Savannah Bananas, making history by headlining the first-ever halftime show for the Banana Bowl and even welcoming team members to join them on stage at the Grand Ole Opry as part of the Opry 100 celebration. Not to mention, the pair just lit up Gillette Stadium when they performed the halftime show during Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the league-leading New England Patriots and the New York Jets.

They’ve kept rolling at full speed ahead by serving up the Christmas original “Snow Angel.” Listen here. The highly sought-after duo co-wrote the song with Andy Albert and worked with producer Jacob Rice. Closing out November, the band revealed a reverent and special cover of “O Holy Night.” Combined with the latest record, their new music has cumulatively tallied streams in the tens of millions.

They’ll carry this momentum into 2026. LOCASH are gearing up to ring in the New Year with a show at Gilley’s in Park City, KS on December 31. Get tickets here.

Additionally, “Wrong Hearts” recently made its way into the Top 40 at Country radio after debuting with the biggest impact date of their career and scoring a major win for both the band and Galaxy Label Group. Their “Hometown Home” (Hot Mix) is currently in the Top 20 and rising at Hot AC radio.

When “Hometown Home” vaulted to #1, Billboard chronicled the moment and spoke to LOCASH’s Preston Brust and Chris Lucas about their sustained success. Additionally, the single registered the first No. 1 from the debut release on Galaxy Label Group. In a short time, it’s become an anthem for fans, and it’s now a staple of their live show too.

It still feels like they’re just getting started though. Be on the lookout for a whole lot more from LOCASH in the new year.

The Whispers were founded in Los Angeles circa 1963. Co-founding member Walter Scott passed away from stomach cancer this past June. Another founding member Nick Caldwell passed of congestive heart failure in 2016. The album opens with an intro by surviving members Wallace “Scotty” Scott (Walters’ twin brother) and Leaveil Degree discussing the initial inspiration for making the gospel album and some conversation about the recent losses of Walter and Nick.

The set features the original eleven songs, four of which were produced by gospel icon and Whispers fan Fred Hammond. The track “For Thou Art with Me” is a smooth ballad that became a Top 40 gospel radio hit in 2010. It’s followed by a song the Scott twins co-wrote and first introduced on their 2006 album For Your Ears Only. The project closes with four mixes of “Praise His Holy Name” – including two by Grammy® Award winning mixer Maurice Joshua (who has remixed tracks by the likes of Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, and Mariah Carey) - which has generated over 2 million digital streams in various incarnations over the years. “Doing the Whispers remix was very exciting for myself,” says Maurice Joshua. “I grew up spinning The Whispers and playing their music as a DJ throughout the decades. Just to hear the stems and their slick vocal harmonies was wonderous. It was a wonderful and joyous feeling just to be part of their legacy and having touched such a great record.” When originally released, the Thankful album peaked at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums sales chart and spent 45 weeks on the survey.

The track listing:

1. Intro by Wallace Scott & Leaveil Degree

2. Walk With Me

3. Did You Know?

4. Praise His Holy Name

5. One More Chance

6. For Thou Art Me

7. Who Could It Be?

8. We Need You

9. This Is How I Feel

10. In the Name of Jesus

11. Living Without You

12. I Sing This Song for You

13. Praise His Holy Name (Acapella)

14. Praise His Holy Name (Instrumental)

15. Praise His Holy Name (House Remix)

16. Praise His Holy Name (Maurice Joshua’s Steppers Remix)

ABOUT THE WHISPERS

The timeless group was formed in 1963. Twin brothers Walter and Wallace Scott (aka Scotty) used to sing on the street corners of Los Angeles with their buddies Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson, and Gordy Harmon. They went pro and landed a contract with Dore Records in 1964. The label owner Lou Bedellnamed them The Whispers because of their smooth vocal blend. Their first hits were novelty dance tunes such as “The Dip” and “Dr. Love.” By the early 1970s, Harmon had left the group and was replaced by Leaveil Degree. In 1976, The Whispers became the first group signed to Soul Train Records (co- owned by the TV show's creator and host Don Cornelius and entrepreneur Dick Griffey) that eventually evolved into Solar Records. Over the course of their career, the group has placed 46 songs on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. The songs range from No. 1 dance cuts such as “And the Beat Goes On” and “Rock Steady” to silky smooth ballads such as “Lady” and “Olivia (Lost and Turned Out).” Marcus Huston left the group in 1992 for health reasons and passed of prostate cancer in 2000. They have earned numerous GRAMMY®, American Music, and Soul Train Music Award nominations. They have also received an NAACP Image Award, the Recording Academy’s San Francisco Chapter GRAMMY® Governor’s Award, and they have been inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Recently, they received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for their community service work, and the Legends Awards at Central City’s 7th annual Black Music Honors televised ceremony.
