I’m feeling extra grateful. Thinking about all the chapters I’ve lived through, the friends I’ve made, the days shared with family, the moments that shaped me into the woman I am today.

Celebrating all the small victories, the whispered affirmations,the laughter shared with friends. Honoring the woman who has tended to her own growth, watered her dreams, and embraced the art of nurturing.

Keeping my faith close, the quiet flame that flickered even in the darkest hours, guiding me forward. It said, “Trust the journey; the universe conspires in your favor.”

Check out this Boxing Club encouraging youth to fight for their goals in Little Village.

A boxing gym in the basement of a Little Village church is on a mission to provide new opportunities for neighborhood kids. Chicago Youth Boxing Club started in 2006 as a refuge for young people seeking a positive outlet.

Since my start at PBS I've spent allot of time working on stories in the South and Westside neighborhoods of Chicago. There's dozens of organizations and people working to end the violence in their communities. Take a look at Territory NFP work.

Families in Chicago's Southwest neighborhoods say they have long been frustrated over what they call the Chicago Police Department's failure to solve murder cases, especially those of their loved ones.

Time seriously flies! I woke up feeling some type of way. I got stuck on the feeling of getting older. Then I went down memory lane and thought about all the things I’ve experienced and all the people I’ve met along the way. I’m so proud of myself, its taken me a long time to even say those words. I spent the last 5 years in NY really discovering me. I’m feeling truly grateful for another year. #32
