***Correction. The original post said the crew took the train down to Harrington, this is in correct. It has been corrected to Millsboro.

The video uploaded went along faster than I thought, so it's now out! On this video, we see the Delmarva Central Railroad take charge of the loaded stone train. Usually Norfolk Southern power takes these down to Millsboro but the HA-1 that takes care of the interchange from Clayton to Harrington is taking care of it, and we witness the crew take it all the way down to Millsboro! Watch now!

Well look at that! We visit the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line! Come with us as we take you around the Altoona area to see a lot of trains! The Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh line runs from West Pittsburgh, PA to Enola, PA and sees approx. 25-60 trains a day in our area we rail fanned. Horseshoe Curve is a popular tourist and railfan hotspot year around and costs $8 to get in and is well worth it. Norfolk Southern has a lot of heavy trains going up the roughly 2.5% grade towards Pittsburgh and most trains will have SD40E and SD70ACu helpers on the end and as well as Mid-Train and Rear-Train DPU's until reaching well before Pittsburgh.

Taking some time out of my day before to chase this coal train! The leader in particular is what I was after, Norfolk Southern recently took these out of storage after nearly 4 years to help with their power shortage. now for the first time, we have an SD70M-2 on the lower peninsula. Also, listen to that unique New Past P3! I’ve had to get my shots of this setup before work! This coal train may also not be around much longer, so get these while you can!

Sure, I filmed trains going past in front of me, behind me, beside me, and over me, but it's been a while since I had one go under me! Like this westbound intermodal on the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line at the Cassandra (Location name is spelled wrong needs corrected in title card) Rail Overlook in Cassandra, PA. Part of the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line Video Part 2 I am working on, stay tuned for it!

Who am I?

My name is Andrew and I am just a person from Lower Slower Delaware, living on the Delmarva Peninsula. I’m a just someone who is on the High Functioning Autism spectrum and has a super high level of interest in trains and railroading.

When I was 13 my interest suddenly grew, I invested in my own Christmas money into purchasing a cheap $30 camcorder from Walmart, also investing in a simple video tripod. Since I am actually starting to get my knowledge into the trains that operate around me in which I live a few hundred feet from the railroad crossing in Redden; I wasn’t really able to figure out when the trains do run. One time my dad took me down the tracks as my mother told him that the train was in town 3 miles from me.

It was a nice experience to see a train up close, this was Norfolk Southern K42, 3 years before DCR was even formed.

Now 7 years later, I have learned a lot more things about the trains and rail operations not only around me, but on the whole Delmarva Peninsula as well! My interest carried on with me into High School and now after Graduation and into the real world.
