It is released twice a year and distributed for free around the city. Each issue has a different theme, and contributors must interpret them in their own ways on one page, whether it be writing, photography, illustration, games, etc. The first issue came out for NXNE 2011 (June) - a quirky Toronto city guide for our visitors and a fun acknowledgement for the residents. The second issue came out fo
r Canzine 2011 (October) and themed 'First Times in Toronto.' The third issue came out in March 2012 with the theme 'The Story of Our Lives' and features contributors finding ways to explain the theme of their lives through different media concepts. The fourth issue was released for NXNE 2012. The fifth issue (October 2012) is an homage to zines in The Fanzine, so contributors each made their page look like if it was ripped out of a fanzine they made. The sixth issue, Elsewhere (March 2013), is full of people's stories about their travels and experiences in other places, which was released for Static's first time at Chicago Zine Fest. Issue 7, The Future, was released in June 2013, which featured contributors answering 'what will an aspect of the future be like?' Issue 8, the mental health issue, was released for Canzine 2013 (October). The 9th issue was released March 2014 and was all about food. We celebrated our 10th issue (October 2014, Canzine) with the theme of milestones. Issue 11 was released on a new schedule in May 2015, all about bodies.
