Health Secretary Victoria Atkins spoke to Nick Ferrari on the second day of the pre-Christmas BMA junior doctor strike, further strike days are planned from the 3rd-9th January in what will be the junior doctors' longest strike ever.

The Health Secretary told Nick the strikes were 'disappointing', emphasising that the January strikes will occur during the 'most difficult week in the NHS calendar'.

As the 7 day extended ceasefire in Gaza between Hamas and Israel came to an end, Sangita Myska is joined by Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, an IDF spokesperson.

Sangita questions the IDF's targeting of civilians in their 'pursuit of Hamas', Colonel Peter insists that Israel's main goal is to 'eliminate any terrorists.'

When asked about the proportionality of Israel bombardment of Gaza, the IDF spokesperson tells Sangita that he believes the death toll is 'proportionate.'

His comments come as US Vice President Kamala Harris called for international law to be respected, adding that 'too many innocent Palestinians have been killed', as Israel resumed its bombing of Gaza following a seven-day truce to release hostages.
