Went to see Mark Sherry play tonight at the Greenwood, met him a few times when he toured here during his Public Domain Soundsystem (Official) days and just wanted to give him a big hug. He played an awesome set and paid a beautiful tribute to his best mate DJ MC Mallorca Lee playing an Ultra Sonic & Public Domain track. Much love to you mate, you did good! 🎧❤️🎧

So sad to hear about the passing of my dear friend Mallorca Lee. He was a true icon of the Rave scene and we had a friendship that spanned over 30 years. Every time he came to our shores to play we would meet up after the shows for a dinner and a drink to reminisce about all the gigs we played together. So many stories and adventures were had over the years and those memories will live on in my mind. We both shared the same passion to keep the Rave scene alive and I will honour his legacy by continuing to play his music to the masses as he is loved by so many. Rave on my auld pal 🎧🎤🎧

📻The year was 1995 and what a time to be alive! It was the peak of the Rave scene and I got to play a 4-hour DJ set live on JJJ’s ‘Mix Up’ radio show which was broadcast all around Australia! Here’s a recording of that set… Enjoy this trip down memory lane 📡

📣Back in the early 90’s there was no internet, No Spotify, youtube or Live Streaming so one of the only ways to hear Rave music in Sydney was at a warehouse party or on my radio show MUSIQUARIUM every Monday from 2-4pm. Big thanks to everyone that came along to the first Newtown Record Fair for 2024 at The Bank Hotel Newtown today and a special thank you to the awesome team who put it on for having me there with a stall. It was great to see so many familiar faces returning once again to pick up some fresh tracks from my collection. Such a cool vibe all round and I’m already getting excited to go through another stack of unopened boxes to bring even more tunes along to the next Record Fair event for you in March 🎧🙏🎧

Uncovered a stack of VHS tapes in storage going back 25 years. Some are audio recordings of my LIve DJ sets from the back room at the original VOODOO night at Pitt St Sublime while others include TV Broadcast footage on Tour with The Channel V Music Bus shows I did in early 2000. There’s Berlin Love Parade footage, Video clips of tracks I made and a whole lot of other stuff. Wish I still had a VHS player so I could copy it all digitally to post. Stay tuned…🎧📼🎧

2023 - The Year in Rewind….

What an amazing and busy year it’s been playing at so many fun, exciting and unique events around Australia, from Reunion shows to Oldschool Rave events and everything in between!

Highlights were Rodd Richards Presents Bassement Jaxx in Sydney, HWFG Uprising, Melbourne Hard Trance Reunion - Home Base and Sydney Hardtrance Reunion with DERB, Sublime Reunion Sold Out event at Home The Venue Sydney with all levels pumping , Ultra Sonic in Sydney for Mainstage Events bringing you the the OG 90’s Rave sounds, Hardstyle Flashback events at Masif Events, also DJing rinkside at Maximum Skating Rave & Festival themed events with people of all ages Rollerskating & Rollerblading to banging music and the recent intimate sold out club event for Rave Union for Oldskool Ravers up in QLD with an unexpected extended 3 hour set of musical madness.

The energy at all of these events from everyone that attended was through the roof and so amazing and I got to meet and talk to so many people that used to go out back in the day which was so heartwarming and really special to reconnect, without you there would be no shows!

I got signed as an artist by Central Station Records and recorded some new tracks from Hardtrance to Hardstyle coming out in 2024, so keep an ear out for these releases in the new year as I’m super excited to be recording music again with a new fresh take on the oldschool sounds and plenty more to come!

My Nik Fish Vinyl Mixing DJ Academy also saw me conduct group classes as well as one on one DJ training sessions which was really rewarding having so many people come through to learn the craft of Vinyl Mixing and look forward to continuing with this next year as well.

Somewhere in between I also sold some vinyl records at Central Station Records inaugural Record Fair which was a fun day seeing people picking up old tracks from my collection to add to their collection.

All up it has been such an incredible year on so many levels and for me nowadays it’s more about quality gigs than quantity and enjoying everything it brings and it’s just been so good to play music of all different genres that I’m known for from Rave, Hardtrance and Hardstyle to everyone that has come to all of my gigs.

These are the styles that I’ve played for over the past 30+ years and I love playing them equally at all the events that feature them!

A very big thank you to the promoters that booked me to play for their events and to all the people on the dancefloor that came along to the shows.

I appreciate all the support from everyone and look forward to delivering some new and exciting concepts on and behind the decks next year.

Did an intimate show in Nambour on the Sunshine Coast, QLD last night. Big shout out to everyone that came along for the party, it was loads of fun playing everything from 90’s Rave Classics to Hardtrance Bangers. I love a club that stays until the end and want one more track after closing time. These are the best kind of gigs, just like the old days! Thanks to the Oldskool Ravers crew for bringing me up for it!

One of the first times I ever played before Ultra Sonic was all the way back in 1994 at a Rave in Sydney and since then over the past 30 years have always played at their shows when they’ve toured here. I’ve made a lifelong friend with them through music and after 5 years since they last graced our shores I cannot wait to heat the decks up for him once again tomorrow! DO YOU LOVE YOUR HARDCORE 🎧🤟🎧
