WARNING: Long post ahead! But if you’re a guitarist, hopefully it will be entertaining 😊 The analog drive pedals form the foundation of the sound I like; these are the k**b settings based on the 2 hour gig at 70s Bistro a couple days ago. I can go ampless—and my signal (and Sancho’s) are routed to the mixing board— but i do use an amp for monitoring and i plug my board to a Peavey Bandit’s Return jack. The Liverpool’s k**b settings are pretty much what i stick with regardless of what i plug into; it’s been my main preamp for years. Set for totally clean, but i can turn the Character k**b all the way up and the Drive to 2 o’clock for a saturated high gain sound. Mine’s a Version 1, btw; its output is way louder than a V2. The RevivalDrive Compact is set for a pushed Plexi-type tone and i love how dynamic it remains even at its highest gain settings. It’s set to EQ1, Adj k**b aimed at 2 o’clock. The Little Bad 94 is set for moderate gain, its EQ k**bs more or less at 9 o’clock; i need to be careful with its and the Liverpool’s EQ ranges! I stack it after the RevivalDrive for now but i’ll experiment with reversing their order soon. The Engager Boost is set for a clean +3dB level boost with a +2 dB bump (more or less) at 400 Hz. I used it as an always-on pedal but i now prefer it as a booster for solos. All these settings are a bit different in the rehearsal room, of course; when dialing in “your” tone, ALWAYS listen to its place within your band and a venue’s acoustics. At home with a tiny Marshall amp and without my bandmates, “my”sound and settings are different (save for the Liverpool). The “best” tone is what fits the context. Always aim to make your band sound good 💕

John & Yoko had pianos in many different rooms in their house. John’s composing piano lived in John & Yoko’s upstairs master bedroom at Tittenhurst. It was his favourite and he played it all the time. This was the piano upon which ‘Imagine’ and many many other songs were written/composed. It’s a different piano to the pristine upright walnut Steinway Z piano he kept in the recording studio and it has not been seen by the public.
