We’re expecting the next few hours to be busy as people wake up and start to report damage. We’ve had six more fallen trees reported in the last hour, including on Les Val de Terres, with roads blocked. Services are responding to affected areas as quickly as possible. Flooding also reported at junction of Saltpans and Route Militaire.

Please stay off the roads unless absolutely essential.

Morning. Bit blowy eh !!

Whatever you’re experiencing inland is twice as bad on the coast !!

Big hook of a rain band through the channel. We’re on the edge of it currently and the strongest winds are in that band. Ripping hard to our south.

And before anyone says anything, we are at home !!

02/11/2023

Well done Jersey police, fire, ambulance and all emergency workers! top stuff. Hope the injuries are minor and the people make a quick recovery.

02/11/2023

Update: two additional trees down as of 05:00.

So far in Guernsey we’ve had 17 trees down across the island which have been reported to JESCC and have caused at least partial road obstructions. Five of those were on or around the Route de la Charruee in the Castel, and the Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service have been hard at work helping clear the obstructions.

We continue to see some coastal flooding, particularly where it started earlier on the east coast. West Coast Roads such as the Perelle Coast road will likely flood more as the morning progresses.

Fortunately we have not yet received reports of people needing relocation because of the weather, however if you do find yourself in that situation you can contact JESCC for help. In an emergency, phone 999.

it wasn't too bad overnight but the wind is really starting to ramp up now F9 edging closer to F10 with wind speeds of 71 to 75mph..

please stay indoors and stay safe do not venture outdoors its too dangerous.

01/11/2023

Watch the wind kick up when this hits soon !

01/11/2023

As Storm Ciarán ramps up we want to issue one final reminder to only call 999 in an emergency. We are expecting a high volume of calls in the coming hours, and our operators in JESCC will need to prioritise when allocating services.

You can also call us as usual on 01481 222222 however emergency calls will be prioritised.

For all of the latest guidance go to gov.gg/stormciaran.

01/11/2023

We have the wind and the rain, let's add to the list shall we, a chance of thunder, although the majority of this will pass us.
