The Montgomery County boys basketball team defeated the Hermann Bearcats 58-41 in the Class 3, District 7 championship game on Feb. 28 at South Callaway High School to win its second straight district title. The Wildcats improved to 27-1 and advanced to play Steelville in the sectional round at MCHS. Clayton Parker scored 18 points, Isaiah Thomas finished with 16 and Andrew Moore added 11 for the Wildcats, who won their ninth district championship in program history. Theo Tate photos

The Montgomery County boys basketball team clinched its third straight Eastern Missouri Conference title on Feb. 21 after beating Clopton 84-38 at Ballew & Snell Court. Clayton Parker and Isaiah Thomas each scored 19 points, followed by Andrew Moore with 14, Jay Rodgers with 11 and Chase Queathem with nine to lead the Wildcats, who finished 10-0 in Eastern Missouri Conference play and won their 30th straight conference game.
