Sound is half a film. We didn't always think that and indeed most people tend to think that filmmaking ends when the camera's put away.
But as we worked on our short films, we found ourselves reliving and recreating every single shot in the sound design process; boring, uninspiring shots became fantastical through the addition of sound. Like a painter who creates landscapes from color, we were discovering the ability to paint soundscapes onto our films that lifted them to a whole new level. This power and wonderful creativity is why we started AudioRama—to create stories through sound.
