Go Brave is a media watch group, whose mission is to promote accuracy, fairness and balance, especially in Caribbean regional news reporting. We advocate greater diversity in the press and scrutinize media practices that marginalise public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints, and monitor, analyse and correct misinformation in the national media. We expose corrupt media practices that prom
ote a one-sided agenda whether political, social or commercial, especially biased reporting utilising the manipulation of facts and statements and hold the media accountable for misreporting. We bring to light neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled. We encourage the media, journalists, editors and publishers to report the news fairly and objectively without resorting to bias or partisanship. We work with activists and journalists and maintain a regular dialogue with reporters, providing constructive critiques when called for and applaud exceptional, hard-hitting journalism. We believe that the public has a right to get the facts, and that journalists should be exposed when they do not adhere to their professed ethical standards. We also encourage the public to contact media with their concerns, to become media activists rather than passive consumers of news.
