🎶✨ The Harmony of Fine Art ✨🎶

🎨 Meet Scott Coats — artist, missionary, writer, and worship leader — who gives old instruments a second life through breathtaking sculptural art. His work blends music, faith, and creativity in the most meaningful way.

💫 One of his most touching pieces, “Life Giver,” was commissioned by Dallas Owen after his son was born with underdeveloped lungs. The sculpture features human lungs transforming into radiant wings — a celebration of God’s goodness and the breath of life within us. Accompanied by a heartfelt poem, “Lungs laced in life and laughter,” it glows with peace and hope through LED light from within.

🎻 Coats often transforms heirloom instruments into whimsical, faith-filled masterpieces — like pianos reborn into wheat fields or flutes cascading like a waterfall. 🌾🎶 Nature and musical mechanics inspire his work, leading him to ask, “What would it look like if I were to break apart this instrument? What can it transpire to be?” His debut piece, “The Sound of the Harvest,” and later works like “Modern Fossil” and “Connected,” showcase the beauty of music and nature intertwined.

🦁 His first showcased sculpture — an 11-foot lion crafted from five century-old pianos, organ pipes, and goose feathers — roared to life at Good Trip Gallery in Raleigh, NC.

💬 “There’s so much beauty in the instrument itself,” says Coats. “The limitations push and squeeze the creativity out of you.”

🍷🎨 This October, Dallas and his wife will host a private showing and wine tasting featuring “Connected,” “Seraph,” “Scales,” “Modern Fossil,” and 15 new one-of-a-kind creations.
