CITC Productions We are a production company that specializes in medieval fantasy and allegorical storytelling. In fact we hadn't even thought about getting into filmmaking.

Back in 2011, our family moved from the city of Clarksville, TN to a farm out in Cunningham. At that time, we had never really considered filmmaking as something we'd want to commit our time to. During the summer of 2013, we made a couple of short backyard videos, which later led us to make a short film. But it wasn't until January of 2015 did we truly find the passion for it. We were on set for a

music video that was being filmed, and it was during the filming of that video that we realized that this was what we wanted to do. Later during 2015, we heard about the video contest that Chuck Black had been hosting for the past 3 years. Being huge fans of his books, we decided to create a short film to submit into the contest. We won honorable mention in the contest, which propelled us forward to try and make more short films. Now, years later, we have become truly professional filmmakers and are embarking to producing larger projects, including a short mini series and feature films. Stay tuned for updates on our next adventures!

Sir William (aka the illustrious Ethan Mitchell) got to meet a fan last night at CWVFF!

CWVFF is our favorite event of the year, enriching us spiritually, encouraging us with other believers, and offering a chance to hear from those who have gone before us and their advice.

Kevin Bouren has been an amazing spiritual advisor to us, and his sweet daughter really loved getting to meet the lead actor of one of her favorite films.

Can’t believe we have to wait a whole year to do this again! See you in March 2024!!

What a fantastic team!

We had a number of very critical crew members who somehow managed to avoid being in any behind-the-scenes images. But they were still extremely important to our team!

Bill Clemons served as our Assistant Art Director, working really hard to make sure our props, horse tack, and armor all looked amazing! He worked super hard and long hours, provided a lot of the materials, and we are so thankful for his work and great attitude!

Kelsey Gentry was our Wardrobe Supervisor, as well as our BTS photographer. She worked hard and fast with the mishmash of costume items she was given, and it turned out so good! Her joyful spirit was a pleasure to have around, and her work was excellent!

Lydia Powell is not pictured here, but she showed up with her lovely horse Gypsy and helped us prepare for the scene. Even though Gypsy appearing on screen didn’t work out, we were so grateful to have and meet Lydia and we hope to work with her in the future!

Robert Sugg IV and Shiloh Clemons were our super awesome PAs we had on set! They selflessly ran around, supplying the crew with essential water and snacks, running errands, and helping to maintain a safe set environment. We literally could not have handled it without them.

We are truly humbled and thankful for this team. So many hardworking and talented individuals that graciously offered their time and energies to participate in this project. We had a lot of fun, but it was a lot of exhausting work too. So we are deeply grateful to each individual who had the kindness to join us.

This film wouldn’t exist without you!

To everyone else: join us this week at CWVFF or keep watch on our YouTube page! The completed film is coming VERY soon!

See you there!

SOUND!

So easily forgotten, so absolutely critical. And HARD to get right!

Aaron Greer served as both production sound and post-production sound mixer. This was Aaron’s first competition film, and he was a fantastic addition to the team. As always, we had a lot of hurdles and frustrations during the post process, and he handled them with calmness and grace, and our completed film (which you will get to see soon), is fantastic!

Aaron leveraged both his technical and artistic skills to build a great soundscape that adds depth and humor to the film!

Thank you Aaron, and we can’t wait to work with you again!

Let’s talk about our fantastic camera team: Joseph, Ryan, and David.

Joseph served as DP and brought so much skill and joy to the project. He made a one-take comedy work, and that is just some seriously impressive camera skills. He also is full of kindness and professionalism and always a joy to have on set!

Ryan never ceases to amaze with his fabulous focusing skills. Serving as 1st AC, Ryan was flying under serious pressure and he pulled, without marks, a 6.5 minute oner. Insane. Mad respect. And he is also incredibly fun and a hard worker. And excellent addition to the team!

David Shepherd. David originally joined the team as a Stunt Assistant, but kindly pivoted to 2nd AC when we needed him to. He rose to the occasion with excellent professionalism, and excited the job flawlessly. His work ethic is incredible, and he’s an amazing asset to have working by your side. Unfortunately we didn’t get a good BTS picture of him… probably cause he was working!

These three guys did such an amazing job. They had their stuff together and we never had to wait, worry, or micromanage them. A super team who functioned smoothly with kindness, and we are so thankful to have their skilled hands out this movie in the can. Well done, gentlemen!

Many thanks to out final cast member (who was also crew) Michael Walker!

Michael joined the team as a stunt coordinator, but through a series of fortunate and unfortunate events, he ended up playing a role in the film. Michael’s skills in swordsmanship were critical, as were his attention to safety. He was a critical part of being the action elements of this 48 short together!

Many thanks to Michael, and go check out his work at

Thank you for hanging with us, Michael!

This dork. Let’s talk about him for a second.

When we first called him to be part of the team, it was mostly as a possible supporting actor. A few days later we asked him if he would help with some production support. Then he ended up hosting half the crew at his house.

But it didn’t stop there. He spent a couple weeks practicing sword playing with C**t, only to have to switch partners and do lots of extra practice right before the competition started.

And as the icing on the cake, he ended up kindly lending his comedy writing skills to the team in a pinch and became co-writer of the script at the very last minute.

And he also plays the lead. And memorized 7 pages of lines in a short few hours.

So yeah, we would like to thank the skilled and generous Ethan Mitchell for his participation on the team. We couldn’t have done it without you!

This lady.

This is Crimson Rose Sugg. She and her brother C**t run Crimson Rose Productions, and are the co-producers of our 48 film this year!

C**t worked tirelessly for weeks in advance to help us prepare for the competition as Associate Producer. Unfortunately, due to personal injury he wasn’t able to join us on set on the day, but we were supported in prayer by him!

Crimson Rose covered a lot of roles for this shoot. She helped with pre-production, gathered and provided lots of supplies, and was a member of the cast!

This film would not exist with them. Working with them on this competition was an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to work with them some more!

Candy and Luke Roden!

It was a series of miracles that led to them joining our team, and they were a MASSIVE blessing to have!

Originally called just to bring out a horse, Luke ended up being a cast member and Candy was a FANTASTIC horse wrangler. We hope to work with them more in the future, but even if we don’t, a new friendship was forged!

Many thanks to Candy and Luke for coming in at the last minute and being a blessing to our team!

For no particular reason, today seemed like an excellent day to start thanking all the amazing people who helped (and are still helping in some cases) bring our next short film to life!

This film, which has not yet been revealed, was made as part of the 48 Film Race hosted by at the end of April. We will reveal and release after the competition concludes judging and announcements in August.

The first person we would like to thank is Kevin Ward and the Limestone Baptist Camp for being INCREDIBLE hosts. This place and Kevin were a gift from God above. We could not have asked for a more perfect location.

Not only was the place beautiful and met everything we were looking for as a camera spot, but it was also accessible. Kevin and the team there were incredibly kind and gracious to gift us use of the space, and we are deeply thankful.

It was truly a blessing that God brought us together through a mutual connection!

It is done!

This competition was an incredible, but also humbling experience. Despite tons of preparation, we were still shaken by several unknowns throughout the process, and it wasn’t without our own blunders.

Humility was certainly not an option. This completed film is the product of a 19 skilled people who generously shared their time. There was a whole series of challenges and miracles… injuries, new crew members that became friends, locations falling through that led us to a perfect and kind location with Camp Helen, a mystery element that shook all our preconceived brainstorming of what kind of story we might tell, frustration, elation, complacency and pride followed by technology problems and mistakes. And at the end… a film about humility that taught us to humble ourselves and depend on God and each other.

This was amazing and we wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Plus, we got to make our first comedy! Crimson Rose Productions, our co-producers, have done many but this was a first for us. We loved it!

We’ve been stretched as filmmakers and storytellers, and we made new friends along the way. And isn’t that the point of a competition like this?

Thank you for the competition! It was a joy and struggle as always.

Join us in attending the Festival in August, and we can’t wait to share this film with the world (after the festival, of course!)

Philippians 2:3-4
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in loveliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others.”

Our Story

CITC Production has been making films now for over 4 years. Our journey began back in the Summer of 2014 when we made our first short film. Filmmaking then was more of a side thing to keep us occupied on boring days. Later, in the winter of 2014, we made another short film, which we never really finished. Then, in January of 2015 we were invited to be in a local music video that was being shot nearby. While on set, we realized that filmmaking was something we wanted to get more serious about. Later that year we made a short film during the summer that was based on the books written by Chuck Black called The Kingdom Series. We entered the film into his annual contest and it won honorable mention. The rest of 2015, and early into 2016 we made 2 more projects (Both original). Then during the summer of 2016 we made another short film based on Chuck Black’s series called The Knights of Arrethtrae. It placed 3rd in his competition, and since then we have created 6 other films. 3 original and 3 based on Chuck Black’s books. Everyone here at CITC Productions sees the art of film as a tool to change people’s lives, and we are excited to continue our journey in that art and see where God takes us.
