Tomorrow will be eight years since the first shooting day of our latest film, Cast & Crew, so we'd like to celebrate by sharing the first scene we ever shot, which was also meant to be the first scene of the movie (but ended up getting cut from the finished edit)!
Hoping to capture this outdoor scene in the midst of winter, we unfortunately found ourselves filming on an unseasonably warm and sunny day, defeating the purpose of scheduling it for February. The unsatisfactory look of the scene, combined with a re-edited opening to the movie leaving nowhere for it to go, led to it getting removed before the premiere at the end of 2023.
Hopefully, this Cast & Crew-sday, this deleted scene can serve as a reminder that even though you usually enter into a shoot with a plan, you never know quite how it's going to turn out until you eventually reach the end. Also, shoutout to @chatroom.seattle who did all of his own stunts!

It's Cast & Crew-sday, and today we're looking back at the time our actress Hanh Duffy had to do a costume fitting outside, at night, on some poorly landscaped sidewalk. However, despite the challenges that come with such low-budget conditions, she treated the sidewalk like a runway and sold the hell out of that worn-out wedding dress!

This Cast & Crew-sday, we'd like to thank the Bare Bones International Film Festival for hosting our movie as a part of their 25th annual festival this past weekend, and for bestowing us with the Ensemble Cast In A Feature Film Award (even though we weren't able to make it to Muskogee, OK for the ceremony)!
We've said it before and we'll say it again: you can't spell Cast & Crew-sday without CAST, and the New Bedford Film Festival agreed by awarding us as Best Ensemble at their awards ceremony Sunday night!
