🐾WEDNESDAY WALKIES🐾

Margate is a community full of much-loved, one-of-a-kind pups—most of whom can’t wait to dash around the town’s stunning beaches when it’s time for a four-legged outing...

On Wednesday Walkies we meet some furry locals and find out their favourite sandy spots for a paw-sitively blissful stroll...

🦴First up is Otis, Margate’s self-appointed beach BBQ cleaner-upper. Got leftovers? He’s your guy. But let’s be clear—ball is life. His favourite beach for a full-speed fetch session? Botany Bay, of course.

🦴Next is Blue, a resident silver fox and certified Margate doggy elder. When he’s not sunbathing or sniffing the backsides of celeb doggies, you’ll find him causing chaos (in the best way) at Newgate Gap.

🦴Then there’s Mimi – ball thief, croissant connoisseur, and professional snuggler. Her perfect day? A good old belly rub followed by a wander along Walpole Bay. Très chic.

🦴 And finally, meet Muesli– part-time sauna bouncer, full-time hole-digging queen. Her top pick? Fulsam Rock beach - down by Winter Gardens, where the digging is top-tier and no other dog dares sit in her hole. You’ve been warned....

This week, Margate welcomes exciting new exhibitions at our favourite local galleries! 🎨

💥 presents a short show of 'Wiping the Slate Clean' by from Wed 2nd - Sun 6th April only. This exhibition features paintings, prints, drawings, and light-boxes, examining display, concealment, surface, and mark-making. Private view on Wed 2nd April, 6 - 8pm.

💥 has two exciting exhibitions launching this week, kicked off by their 4th Birthday party at The Bellevue Tavern on Saturday 5th April!
1️⃣ 'Mekle Lippis' by reveals significant British Black histories and explores femininity, beauty, race, and identity, empowering the Black female body and elevating overlooked histories. This marks Josie’s first solo show outside Scotland.
2️⃣ 'Some forms of Togetherness' is a collection of unused red lipsticks by .co.uk, exploring moments of gender euphoria, dysphoria, kleptomania, and identity, critiquing femininity, race, and power.
Both these exhibitions are running until 25 May.

💥 presents 'Day Trip' by and Pascalwyse, an immersive experience exploring Margate’s juxtaposition of nature and artificial arcades. Using mirrors, pulsating lights, and layered sound, the artists create a disorienting funhouse. Opening on Sat 5th April, running until 24th May.

Lulu’s gelato is made with Hinxden’s fresh Guernsey milk and high-quality ingredients sourced locally and from Italy, which is why it is so creamy and bursting with natural flavours. All your favourite flavours and some exciting new ones are filling up the cabinet daily.
