WJKO was created to help unsigned independent artists get airplay for the great music are were making and help spread their music around the world. WJKO likes to build personal relationships with the artists they play and the listeners making it true community radio. WJKO regularly accepts music submissions from musicians of any genre from anywhere in the world.The Founder and Curator is Dr. Jack Bishop, an ethnomusicologist and life-long musician who has a deep understanding of the music industry and it's marginalization of independents.
