Back to school next week so you know what that means!!! That means I spent a day and a half doing my daughters’ hair 😒😫 We did some and added some hair. I’ve done passion twists several times but this is the best they’ve ever turned out.

The passion twist hair and the beach curl hair are both from Toyotress! They sent me the hair so I could make a video styling it and instead of using it on myself, I used it on them. Toyotress is on Amazon, I highly recommend them for crochet hair/braiding hair/etc. I’ve worked with them several times and the hair is always on point!

I tried the kit from 💋 and I AM IN LOVE!!!! I have really gotten into lately, so when Kiss sent me these to try, I could not wait to put them on! This kit comes with 12,14,16mm lashes in 3 different styles, lash SEMI PERMANENT adhesive/remover, lash applicators, a spoolie, and a brush! Being in a 10 year vow renewal for my wonderful bestie friend had me all in my feels about my own relationship… especially looking at all her photos of us enjoying ourselves! I’m one lucky gal! Because the beautiful man in this picture, that is arm in arm with me, is my husband and we are on our marriage journey too… And he is the love of my life!

I’m loving these crochet box braids from ❤️ they were so easy to install and the quality is on point! I did the front of my hair to give the illusion of individual box braids and put the back portion of my hair in cornrows. You know I filmed a YouTube video detailing how I achieved this style so that will be coming soon!

I graduated with my Masters in Education this weekend and I had a 4.0 GPA. Me… someone who had a very less than favorable GPA in undergrad. Me… someone who had never had an actual career until now and I’m 34. . Me… someone who has dreamed of a career in education but did not think it was possible for me. Me… someone who had 2 children and was a stay at home mom for over 4 years. Me… someone who worked full time while going to school, being a mom, and being a wife as well. God still made my dream come true. God still made a way out of no way. When God has something for you, no one can stop it. I’ve had a lot of things taken away from me, but no one can take this. My education. I am proud of myself. I did it! I hope I can put this degree to good use and be a true leader and make a difference in many students’ lives. I am inspired. I am grateful. I am blessed!

Well it’s New Years Eve, and for me that means my Winter Break is coming to an end! Next week, I’ll be back in the classroom teaching my heart out so I’ve been mentally preparing myself! Swipe your to see the profound post I recently came across on Facebook that really hits home for me when dealing with children. It’s important to always see the good in them. It’s easy to see not only the good but the AMAZING in most of them, but the challenging ones (I have a few )😮‍💨 it can be tough. The second swipe made me look at them through different eyes and that’s going to help me keep pushing and keep a positive perspective for the second half of the school year!

Merry Christmas from the Smoky Mountains 🏔 We’re brunching in our cabin in our matching PJs ❤️ We love to give our kids experiences more than presents. This is the 3rd year we’ve taken them out of town for the holidays. We hope to keep it going and keep going further and further away from home. I pray that everyone is enjoying their day and remembering the real reason for today, the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ 🙏🏾

I took some time this weekend to focus on my hobbies that I’m never able to do anymore because life is too wild right now! I did my hair, I did my makeup, I shot a reel, I filmed a video for YouTube… it felt good to do what I love, even if it was only for a day! Now, it’s back to the grind. Even though I’m off for this whole week because it’s Fall Break, I’ve got grad school assignments breathing down my neck!!! I wish you all a productive week! Let’s get it 💪🏾

I’ve been MIA from Instagram and this is why! I’m a first year 2nd grade teacher and graduate student and my life is consumed by 7-8 year olds, lesson plans, sticky notes, clear targets, assignments, and cleaning my dang classroom after they destroy it everyday 😂 this is what my weekend is currently looking like… preparing for the upcoming week. Unit 2 starts on Monday 😮‍💨 I never knew it before, but teaching is A FULL TIME JOB. Ain’t no clocking out and forgetting about it until you return to the building again! It’s day in and day out, it’s preparation, it’s grading, it’s planning… IT’S A LOT!!!! But I’m blessed to get to do it… I really feel like teaching is THE job for me. You know what they say, those who cannot do, teach 🤣 that is so me. I’m forever grateful to be where I am. God is good.

Last night was Back to School Night. It was crazy meeting most of my ACTUAL students in person and their parents. I had a great turnout! I cannot believe I am an actual teacher and I have an actual classroom! I have wanted to be an educator for years now and it’s finally happening. My first real job since 2014 and my first career ever. I can’t wait to make everyone me who really wants to see me succeed, like the principals and my mentor teacher at my school who have given me a chance, my husband, my children, and my students proud. School starts Monday 😮😮😮 WHAT!?!

Cool for the Summer by @ddlovato is a #summeranthem ‼️🧡☀️ I’m loving these 18 inch crochet #butterflylocs 🦋 from #dushair on @amazon! They are so thick and they look so natural.
