Bob utilized Sam Gibbs as his “booker” ( Sam Gibbs Orchestra Service) in the latter part of his career. Sam and his brother Leon built and operated the MB Corrall in Wichita Falls, Texas along with a music store.

Sam was often teased about the long distances his musician clients often traveled to various venues he booked! (There was once a cartoon created of Sam throwing darts at the map of the states to determine venue sites that Bob and other clients traveled to across the Country)

In the Kapp albums, Bob commented during the song, “There’s not a 100 miles left in me” - as Tagg Lambert sings,- “After Sam Gibbs sends you on the road, there’s not nuthin left in ya!”
