Have you seen this post around the interwebs??? Usually, it has a picture of Taylor and Travis. almost never has my name attached to it, even though they are my words..
I posted this on thread this weekend after seeing men on social media complaining about Taylor Swift being at the Super Bowl.
There was even one man that said she doesn’t even belong at a football game. Imagine being so successful at your job that mediocre men are threatened by you to the extent they don’t even want you in the stadium.
Now imagine those same men saying all of this in front of their daughters.
And that’s why I wrote this
Nobody cares that Eminem was at the Lions game and was actually flipping off San Francisco fans. Not one of those men complained when Taylor brought her friends Deadpool & Wolverine to the game. Nobody has ever complained about Jack Nicholson sitting courtside at a Lakers game. (look at me making sports and super hero references)
clearly, they don’t have a problem with celebrities at sports ball games. They have a problem with a successful woman who doesn’t shrink to make them comfortable.

Five books I read this week

Salt in the Wound. this is book one in the Lyonness Series by Sierra Simone. It’s a dark forced marriage, age gap romance.

Salt Kiss is the second book in the Lyonness Series. This is a forbidden love, mm romance.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Beyond Reach is the final book in Karin Slaughter’s Grant County series. I read this to finish out the series. I love Karin Slaughter’s writing.

The Worst Wingman Ever is a cute, vanilla (zero spice) meet cute novella narrated by Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hard Sell is the second in the 21 Wall Street series. this is enemies to lovers and fake dating tropes. It’s an engaging story obviously made more engaging because it’s narrated by Zachary Weber and he can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned.

✨Meet the Bookstagramer✨

I have always loved reading. But life, and raising my children, got in the way of me reading as much as I would have liked. Last year I started a job that allowed me to listen to books while I work and all of a sudden I had time to fall in love with reading all over again. A year later I decided to start a account and here we are.
So, a little about me.
📚 I'm Becky and I am proudly Gen X

📚 I had several blogs in the OG days (think 2005)

📚 I listen to audiobooks or read on my phone. The portability makes it easier for me to read where ever I am.

📚 I will absolutely listen to anything Jacob Morgan or Joe Arden reads. Even a phone book.

📚 I only work to support my coffee/reading addiction. And to provide my cat the life she feels entitled to.

📚 My journey through the world of romance books last year started at Taylor Jenkins Reid and ended with Ella Frank and Marley Valentine.

📚 I am obsessed with The Emilyverse and the Jacksonville Rays.

📚 One of my non reading goals this year is to listen to all of Taylor Swift's albums. because while I am enthralled with everything, Taylor, Swift, I know very little about her albums.

📚 My favorite genres are romance and thriller/suspense.

📚 My least favorite is fantasy and historical romance.

My 2023 in Books

last year I decided that I was no longer going to read to improve myself I was going to read for entertainment . I was tired of self-help books and I wanted to fall in@love with reading again.

And fall in love I did. With so many books and so many book boyfriends.

I started 2023 with and . I ended 2023 with and . Last year was quite the ride.

I’ve already started 2024 with and so 2024 is looking very promising (and spicy 🌶️🌶️😉)

Here’s how I rate the books I read. Full disclosure, I’ll never throw a 1-star rated book under the bus here. If I can’t finish it, I won’t even mention it. But don’t pop the champagne just yet, because my 5-star reviews are as rare as a unicorn with a golden mane. A book needs to knock my socks off and keep me daydreaming even after I’ve read the last page to earn that precious fifth star. Those are the books I’ll rave about to anyone who’ll listen. ⁠⁠⁠⁠

This is me dipping my toes into Bookstagram. Last year I fell in love with reading all over again. Specifically audiobooks although I have started branching out to ebooks.
