Daniel Pearl Youth News is an online news service that is available to all secondary school students around the world. All articles that are posted on this website are written by students who have taken and passed our free online journalism course. In the four week course, students learn the fundamentals of journalism and write their first article with the support of mentors. Then they are certifi
ed as Daniel Pearl Reporters and go on to publish their articles on Daniel Pearl Youth News. Daniel Pearl Youth News adheres to the highest journalistic standards and encourages young reporters to write news stories with emphasis on integrity, ethics and truth in reporting. This program is inspired by the life and work of journalist Daniel Pearl who travelled the world, and through his writing, connected people from diverse cultures by telling the human side of the story. His skills as a journalist were apparent not only in his entertaining pieces that shed light on other cultures, but also in investigative reporting that uncovered the truth from the rubble of war and devastation. About the Daniel Pearl Foundation:
The Daniel Pearl Foundation was formed in 2002 in memory of the Wall Street Journal's South Asia Bureau Chief, journalist/musician Daniel Pearl, to promote the ideals that inspired his life and work. The Foundation works domestically and internationally to promote cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, to counter cultural and religious intolerance, to cultivate responsible and balanced journalism, and to inspire unity and friendship through music.
