WATCH NOW: "OASIS" – The New York Times Op-Docs, the Academy Award-winning distributor behind "The Queen of Basketball" and other award-winning short films, just debuted the award-winning documentary short film "Oasis" from Canadian director Justine Martin on nytimes.com.

Raphaël and Rémi are twins who see their fusional bond begin to crumble as they enter their teenage years. Rémi is growing up faster than Raphaël, who has an increasingly marked developmental disability and is struggling to adapt to this new reality. But during one last summer surrounded by nature, time seems to stand still.

"Oasis" had its world premiere at Dok Leipzig and then screened at more than 80 film festivals around the world including IDFA the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, Clermont Ferrand International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Docaviv as well as TheWrap’s ShortList Film Festival 2023. It has received numerous awards this year including the Academy Awards-qualifying Grand Prize for Documentary Short at IndyShorts International Film Festival; Academy Awards-qualifying Best Documentary Short at RiverRun Film Festival; the Solveig Anspach Award at Solveig Anspach, Iceland; the NEON Award at Mo & Friese Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg; the Award for Best Documentary Short at Lunenburg Doc Fest and more.

At the dawn of their teenage years, the bond between the twins Raphaël and Rémi begins to weaken. But during the summer, time seems to stand still.

FRONTLINE and Retro Report tell the story of the 1967 killing of Wharlest Jackson Sr., a local NAACP leader in Natchez, Mississippi. The documentary follows Jackson’s family as they search for the truth about what happened and examines the history of white supremacy in Natchez. It is part of FRONTLINE's multiplatform Un(re)solved initiative, which is nominated for a Peabody Award for Immersive & Interactive.
