Oxford Law Society The largest subject based society at the University of Oxford. See the 'Events' tab for what LawSoc has in store.

The Oxford Law Society is one of the largest and most established student societies at the University of Oxford, serving as students' primary resource to gain insight into the legal profession.

'LawSoc' enjoys a reputation for holding some of the most popular and successful social events in Oxford. Sponsored social events are designed to enable our members to engage with working legal professiona

ls in a more informal setting. The Society also holds prestigious termly balls at well-known venues, such as Blenheim Palace, the V&A Museum, the Roman Baths, and Warwick Castle. In addition, members look to LawSoc to connect them with top employers in the legal market. To this end, the Society works with a number of City law firms and highly-regarded chambers to offer small-group presentations and workshops. These aim to equip aspiring lawyers with key competencies and networks that will aid the seamless transition from university to working life. Employers interested in working with us may contact [email protected] for inquiries. The Society's termly 'Verdict' magazine has become a well-respected publication. It contains society news, topical articles by icons from the legal world, as well as winning essays from the termly essay competition. Recent editions may be found at https://www.oxfordlawsoc.com/verdict-magazine/. The Oxford Law Society is open to all members of the University of Oxford and the other establishments listed in the Proctors' memorandum. All students are encouraged to join, regardless of subject specialism. Sign-ups for events are open to all members of the society. Membership can be obtained at termly in-person Membership Drives (details given in due course on this page) or via the form on the website (https://www.oxfordlawsoc.com/). As of HT21, the membership fees are £45 for the duration of your degree, or £30 per annum.
