Hey, hey! It’s been a minute, right? Okay, maybe a HOT minute if we’re being real. 😂 Life’s been a whirlwind of client projects, community events, and (trying to!) keep my balance. Honestly, keeping up with my own socials often takes a back seat. Anyone else feel this struggle? 🙋‍♀️

Funny enough, the challenges I face inspired me to start my whole business! If you’re finding it hard to get back into the social media groove, believe me when I say, I GET IT! Let’s simplify it and get back to it together. Back to basics, here we go!

Whether you’re back from a social media snooze and ready to reconnect or just looking at ways to connect with your audience, here are 15 fun ways to make a comeback and engage with your audience. 👇

* Share a ‘Hello Again’ post
* Host a Q&A to get to know your audience
* Try a poll—‘What did I miss?’
* Give a behind-the-scenes tour
* Share a ‘Top 3 Things I Learned’ post
* Show a blooper reel—let’s laugh together! I mean, who else enjoys laughing at themselves? I sure do!
* Post a fun fact about yourself [Fun fact about me, my middle name is palindrome!]
* Use Stories to share daily life snippets
* Create a quick ‘Catch Up with Me’ video
* Showcase a current favorite product or tip
* Run a ‘Guess the Photo’ or throwback post
* Partner up and collaborate on a post
* Try an IG Live—say hi in real time [Who else gets scared of being in front of the camera? The time to try something new is NOW. Let’s be brave together.]
* Check in with your audience…ask your THEM what they’ve been up to!
* Most importantly JUST DO IT! The first step is the hardest.

Let’s pick up right where we left off 💫💬

Which one are you doing first? 🤔🤔🤔

Hey frieeeends! Let's talk about the power of adding a human touch to your brand on social media, and well, in general.

I have always been a fan of conversational copywriting. What does that mean? It means writing the way I would talk to you. Having a conversation. A dialogue. I want what you read, to sound like we were having a real conversation. I want it to be personal. It SHOULD be personal. It should feel real. It is real.

It's one of many easy ways to connect with your audience, to build a following, to nourish relationships, to be authentic.

Connecting with your audience goes beyond talking about your own products, your own services. It's about forming genuine relationships and building trust with your audience, one that works both ways.

Here's why it matters:

1️⃣ Authenticity: People crave authenticity! If you know me, you know I live and breathe by authenticity. The good, the bad, and all the in between that comes with it. 😂 By showcasing the human side of your brand—whether it's through behind-the-scenes glimpses, employee stories, or engaging with followers—you create a sense of trust and reliability. The truth is, we, as people, LOVE these stories. We love the people who make your world tick. We love doing business with people who love their people. So be authentic. Get weird. Get human.

2️⃣ Relatability: When your brand feels relatable, it becomes more memorable. Sharing real stories, experiences, and even mistakes helps your audience see themselves in your brand, fostering a deeper connection. Who doesn't love when they see someone else own their mistakes? We all evolve, we all have room for growth, we love when brands take ownership of theirs. It feels real.

3️⃣ Emotional Connection: Most of us are emotional beings, and emotions drive actions. By tapping into emotions like joy, empathy, or inspiration, you can evoke meaningful responses from your audience, strengthening loyalty, engagement, and continue to build longlasting community.

4️⃣ Community Building: What was I just saying about community building? Social media is all about building communities. By humanizing your brand, you invite people to join a community centered around shared values, interests, and experiences. This helps to foster and create a sense of belonging and encourages participation. Community only makes a brand stronger. It helps us when we're down, it helps us grow, it helps us learn, it helps drive us forward.

5️⃣ Stand Out from the Crowd: In a sea of content vying for attention, a humanized brand stands out. It adds a personal touch that sets you apart, making your brand more memorable, a brand that someone wants to follow instead of mute.

So, let's continue to make 2024 the year our brands are more human on social media! Let's tell our stories, engage authentically, and build meaningful connections. Together, we can create stronger, more vibrant communities.

Stay authentic.
Stay real.
Stay on brand. ❤️

Nothing like presenting at a panel on Social Media to remind myself to get on my own, as it's been a minute. What can I say? I am my own worst client. I am sure other people can relate.

Here I AMMMMMM!!! HI YA'LL! I'm fresh back from Nashville, can you tell? Nothing like a holiday to give me an excuse to come say hi.

Love is in the air today! And guess what? It's not just for Valentine's Day. I know, I know, not another Valentines Day post. Don't worry. This isn't it. I'm not here to share some lovey dovey stuff, however, I am here to remind you that love, the essence of love, is in everythng we do, INCLUDING marketing and social media.

In marketing, love plays a crucial role too. Why? Because when your audience feels genuinely cared for, understood, and appreciated, that's when the magic happens. That's when you attract, that's when you connect, that's when you convert.

🔗 Building strong relationships with your customers isn't just about transactions; in fact if it is, you're doing it wrong. It's about creating connections that last. Show your audience some love by delivering value, listening to their needs, and going the extra mile to exceed their expectations.

💡 Remember, love isn't just a feeling—it's a strategy. Cultivate it in your marketing, and watch your brand absolutellllly kill it. Spread love, spread joy, share your authenticity, and watch your audience fall head over heels for what you have to offer.

What does your audience love about your brand?

Social media is more than metrics; it's about meaningful engagement and building a community. There is no one size fits all solution to it, and what works today may not work tomorrow.

At the heart of everything, social media is about engaging with your people. Social media done right should:

Tell a story.
Connect with your audience.
𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙮.
Solve a problem.
Make an impact.

🧏‍♀️ I often hear businesses saying they have to get on social media for one of a few reasons:

1. Someone in marketing told them to
2. Someone in sales told them to
3. They know they have to be on it
4. They want to increase sales

Anytime I hear someone say they want to increase sales via social media, I can’t help but cringe.

Sure, social media can be used as a tool to help your sales team, however there are a lot of pieces to that pie and more often than not, people aren’t looking at the entire picture. They have no funnel in place and expect all social content to drive leads and convert them to sales. It's an unrealistic expectation without the proper strategy.

While I don’t discredit those reasons for a business needing to hop on social, what I don’t hear as often as I should are the many important reasons your business should be on social media.

Social media helps to:

💫 Increase visibility
💬 Provides a direct line of communication with current customers and potential ones
📣 Offers brand awareness opportunity
👩🏻‍💻 Helps to build a brand persona
👯 Creates engagement and loyalty

How do you use social media to connect with your audience?

12/07/2023

If we work together, there is one word you’ll hear from me often, and that’s why.

I believe in the power of asking why.

👩🏻‍💻 Whether we’re working on social, copywriting, or a bigger piece of your marketing strategy, the number one thing I want to know is why we’re doing what we’re doing.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Asking "why" is a fundamental aspect of any marketing strategy because it helps businesses delve deeper into the motivations, goals, and purpose behind their marketing efforts.

Asking why helps to:

✨Clarify objectives
✨Target the right audience
✨Identify Value proposition
✨Focus on customers
✨Optimize and improve marketing
✨Continue to be innovators and leaders
✨It helps to align with your brands purpose.

Asking "why" in the context of marketing helps businesses gain clarity, target the right audience, develop a strong value proposition, adopt a customer-centric approach, optimize marketing efforts, drive innovation, and align with their brand purpose.

It is a an important question to ask when making business decisions and spending money.

I want to know, when was the last time you stopped to ask your why?

📢 Authenticity Matters!

🌟 In a world of filters and facades, let's remember the power of being genuine in marketing.

Authenticity creates trust, fosters meaningful connections, and sets us apart from the noise. By embracing our unique voice, values, and story, we can attract a loyal community who believes in what we stand for.

Let's be real, transparent, and true to ourselves, because authenticity is the key to building lasting relationships and making a real impact. 💫

Who is with me?

Hi there! I can’t remember the last time I said that, so here I am, saying hi 👋🏼. It’s probably a good time to introduce myself, if you don’t already know me.

I’m Danie, a 36-year-old marketing maven working my magic, one client at a time! Armed with a flair for copywriting, a knack for social media, a talent for marketing strategy, I’m the ultimate marketing consultant you don’t even know your team needed.

I have a passion for being bold and thinking outside the box. I like working with people and brands that believe in imperfections, authenticity, and being bold.

I specialize in focusing on building brands in ways that shake your industry, but more importantly, I focus on telling stories that connect with your brands audience, with your people. Everyone needs their people.

Well told stories can change the world. Creating the right brand voice helps evolve your brand into one that listens and connects with your target demographic. I love helping brands create that story. A perfect blend of creativity, energy, communication, brand, and strategy.

I truly enjoy being around good people and helping other businesses grow. You never know how a well told story can change your company’s path.

In my free time I volunteer, travel, spend time with family and friends, check out live music, and do ALL of the hiking with my dog. The chances are REALLY high that you’ve seen me at Bidwell with my best fur-pawl, Kennedy.

If you want to know more about how I can help. Let me know. If not, enjoy this new snazzy photo courtesy of one of the best brand photographers around

This is your PSA to do a few things for your social media accounts, especially if you own a business.

1. Make sure your business is on Meta Suite
2. Make sure you have more than one Admin
3. Make sure every one who is an admin has two-factor authorization turned on
4. Make sure your business is verified (via business suite)
5. Do not click links from emails/people you don't know.
6. Monitor your ad accounts and ad account spend religiously.

P.S. Admin to a business page is very different than admin to Meta Suite.

Do your part to keep your accounts safe. If anyone ever has any questions about it, send me a message!

If you’re a Creator Studio fan, it’s time to say goodbye and get used to Meta Business, it’s here to stay! Well, for now anyway… 😂

It’s 2023, what are you using to schedule your posts?

Meta’s pushing Page managers towards its more all-encompassing Business Suite platform instead.

Wishing you a happy and healthy new years!! Looking forward to all the fun projects in 2023.

It’s been a while since i’ve done my own social so I thought a social media emergency was as great of a time as ever to hop on and say hello! Hi there friends! Here I am. I’m still here. Working hard doing marketing strategy, copywriting, social media and more but enough about me…. let’s talk about Instagram and it being down this morning.

This morning, and for some this weekend, tons of accounts on Instagram got taken down or suspended for no reason. This happened to several friends, clients, and other professionals I know. There was no rhyme or reason, and while the accounts were suspended, they were in no way tied to violating policies or anything like that.. it just was what it was. A glitch. In most cases, it got easily resolved. Though I have heard of some accounts losing followers and not getting those back, yet.

If this happened to you, stay calm and know you’re not alone. It was an easy process to get the accounts restored and I suspect Instagram and FB will likely be restoring lots of accounts on their own.

If this happened to you within the last 24 hours, and your account hasn’t been restored, shoot me a message and i’ll do a quick FREE audit of your account to see what can possibly be done.

I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few things that every business with a social media account should remember:

1. EVERYONE who has access to your accounts or business manager should have 2FA turned on. Period. IF you disagree, you’re wrong. It’s the easiest way to get hacked, it’s the easiest way to prevent yourself from getting hacked. Your socials should all have this, as should really any of your accounts.

2. ALWAYS have a secondary admin on your accounts. Even if it’s someone who doesn’t pay attention to social, even if it’s someone who wants nothing to do with it, have a backup. If something happens to you or your account, you NEED a backup person who can handle your accounts.

3. Do NOT create a fake backup personal profile to manage social accounts. It will likely impact your account and you may possibly get that profile and your business profile taken down.

4. Getting access to support on FB and Instagram is super difficult if you’re not regularly using them or spending money on these platforms. Do your best to protect your accounts so that if something happens, you’ve done all the “right” things. If you don’t know them, hire someone who does. Policies and guidelines change every day. It’s hard to know what to do and what not to do. If you’re going to run social, make sure you understand the different policies.

5. Do not use the same PWs for any accounts. They should all be completely unique and different.

Until next time!

P.S. Happy Halloween. 👻🎃👻🎃

It’s been a while so it’s probably time for this social media gal to hop back on her own page 👀🤷🏻‍♀️.

This is just a reminder that ad placement and content matters.

What do you think, who is at fault here for the ad running, CNN or Applebees?

The network shifted from somber footage of Russia's attack to a commercial featuring a cowboy shaking his butt to the song "Chicken Fried."
