Feeling all sorts of feels as we approach our last day cycling tommorow.
(Ecstatic, sad, proud, tired, overwhelmed, relaxed etc..)

Today had to be one of the best days, a shorter ride but some beautiful scenary and special times and belly laughs spent with good friends.

We are so proud of our efforts and as we arrive rolling into Budapest tommorow im sure a few tears will be shed 😢 🚴

We are nearly there!!!
The bike trip scenary has become so beautiful as we move through Hungary.

Last night we arrived in Esztergom 🇭🇺

Absolutely beautiful architecture.
We have a shorter day riding today around 37km into Veroce. 🚲

Two more days until we arrive in Budapest!!

The cool thing about travelling via cycle is you come across little towns and areas you would never ever intentionally travel to.

We had a rest day in Komarom, Hungary today, however across the river is Komarno which is an entire different country; Slovakia.

We had breakfast and explored the old town, we came across this area called Europe City which had housing structures and shops that represent the architecture in different countries of Europe 🤔

We then spent the afternoon soaking at the thermal baths before we gear up again tommorow making our way through Hungary 🚴

One photo was not enough to capture the amazing scenery today. As we ventured south to Mittenwald we went on a gorge walk that was nestled at the bottom of the mountain range that passed through Austria and Germany. The best roads we have ever drove on, we are amazed at the beauty of this part of the world.

We have now parked up for two days in Garmisch Partenkirchen, as tommorow we head up the highest peak in Germany the Zugspitze 🗻

Usually we try and book accommodation city centre for the accessibility to key sights, this trip we opted for something more suburbial and we loved our experience staying in the midst of people of Munich going about their day to day lives. Not far from where we stayed was ths Olympic stadium and park and it was beautiful 🥰

Took a stroll around Georgetown today, it has so many beautiful doorways to shophouses and beautiful patterned tiles leading into hidden coffee shops. This town had such an artsy and unique feel to it as we stumbled across amazing street art and small boutiques.

On the eve of ANZAC day, one of the most important and significant days of the year in New Zealand and Australia, Ash and I are so thankful that we got to visit the Gallipoli peninsula and the WW1 battlegrounds less than a year ago. Gallipoli has become a pilgrimage for so many Kiwis and Aussies, where we pay our respects to those who fought there.

Today was a special day. Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated with history and in particular WW2 history.

To visit the city where the first Atomic Bomb was dropped, read the stories of the people who survived it and see the photos of the devastation it caused was a truly emotional experience.

The city is now a beacon for peace around the world.
