Teachers' Day

Because I am a product of a teacher; a child raised by a headmistress and also as a trained teacher, I know of the immeasurable efforts of teachers in our societies.

Today, I celebrate all nation builders holding the firms of upbringing our children in all fronts of education.

I equally want to use this moment to charge you all to do more in the training and inculcating of the moral values, ethics, norms and cultural etiquettes expected to strengthen our kids to be good ambassadors of our societies and dear nation tomorrow.

As for the 2024 Teachers' Day, themed "Valuing Teachers' Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education", I want to join you in the quest for an improved welfare package and better condition of service as you serve the society for better.

I passed by the building in College High School and I saw the ongoing project of a block of classrooms by Hon. Clement Olohunwa

Hon. Clement Olohunwa has in less than two years, made remarkable steps, breaking new ground on multiple fronts. Our people are genuinely feeling the positive impact of his promises."

He has shown us exemplary stewardship at the Town Hall Meeting when I represented our community, the first of its kind from a political office holder in this area.

It is also astonishing that corporate organizations, religious bodies, different communities and the PWDs within the federal constituency are also stepping forward to express their gratitude as you equally allow them to make known what they want from his office.

From what my people read daily about his office, it is obvious that he has touched lives across all the communities and religious bodies as well as organizations in our areas in Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency. They are fully rejoicing because they believe this is truly the reign of a leader par excellence.

I joined our good people and natives of Osun State, to welcome the people's governor, HE Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, Executive Governor of Osun State, at an event organized for the Osun State indigenes in Abuja last Tuesday.

In my speech, though it was an extempore, I raised encomiums on the trailblazing projects that the people of Osun State are witnessing under the leadership of the Executive Governor.

At the event, I had an opportunity to congratulate the organizing team and celebrate them for holding a maiden edition of such an event.

I also persuaded our fellow Osun natives that further support should be rendered for them and prayed that they should be mercifully blessed and fruitful enough to be meaningful back home.

Beauty Meets Safety as Olohunwa Illuminates Constituency.

21st September, 2024.

Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency, Abuja.

Just a couple of weeks ago, some communities showed due appreciation to commemorate the installation of solar-powered streetlights in their communities.

Yet again, Hon. Clement Akanni of Boluwaduro/ Ifedayo/ Ila Federal Constituency has extended the installation of the streetlights to some other communities in the Federal Constituency. These areas are:

1. Oke-Ila, Ifedayo Local Government
2. Otan Ayegbaju, Boluwaduro Local Government
3. Isedo, Ila Local Government
4. Oyi Ayegun, Ifedayo Local Government
5. Ada Obalumọ, Baba Eko, Aba Panu, Ifedayo Local Government
6. Isinmi Olotu, Ifedayo Local Government
7. Ejigbo Orangun, Ila Local Government
8. Idi Odan, Ifedayo Local Government

The installation of the streetlights will go a long way to ease pedestrians and motorists plying the routes at night and, by extension, the night guards manning the environment.

Equally, security threats and fears will be maximally reduced in the beneficiary neighbourhoods.

In his rapport with the inhabitants of one of the beneficiary neighbourhoods, the Senior Legislative Aide to the House of Representatives Member, Mr Lamidi Saheed Ademola, assured members that his principal, Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni is committed to transforming the communities and others in the Federal Constituency in every other area vis-a-vis agriculture, human capacity development, skill acquisition, empowerments and others.

19th September 2024 — Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency

In a bid to enhance security and improve the quality of life within the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency, the distinguished member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa), has successfully completed the installation of street lights in key communities. This project covers four major locations, significantly illuminating areas that were previously underserved.

The beneficiary areas include

1. Oyi Ayegun in Ward 1, Ifedayo Local Government;
2. Ada Obalumo in Ward 2, Ifedayo Local Government;
3. Ejigbo Orangun in Ila Local Government;
4. Isinmi Olotu in Ward 3, Ifedayo Local Government.

This initiative is part of Hon. Clement Akanni’s ongoing commitment to delivering impactful projects that address the most pressing needs of his constituents.

SKILL ACQUISITION FOR YOUTHS AND WOMEN IN COCOA FARMING: EMPOWERING ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRO-BUSINESS

19th September 2024 — Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency

The Honourable Member representing the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency, Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni (OLOHUNWA), has yet again facilitated a skill acquisition program aimed at empowering youths and women in cocoa farming, providing them with essential entrepreneurial skills and technical knowledge for sustainable agro-business. This initiative took place over four days at the Igbonnibi City Hall, Ila-Orangun.

Partnering with the National Productivity Centre (NPC), the program drew participants from various localities, focusing on equipping attendees with skills in cocoa cultivation, processing, and marketing. The training session was facilitated by Dr. Ademola Ajayi of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), ensuring participants received expert guidance.

Supervised by experienced facilitators from the NPC, the event highlighted the importance of modern farming techniques and innovative business practices in boosting productivity. The program was designed not only to improve agricultural output but also to promote economic independence among women and youths, who play a vital role in the agricultural sector.

In addition to the training, attendees benefited from a range of support initiatives, including:

- Cash grants for about 300 farmers
- Distribution of cocoa seedlings to about 300 cocoa farmers
- Distribution of NPK fertilizers
- Distribution of sprayers
- Distribution of pesticides
- Distribution of cutlasses
- Certificates for all participants

During the event, participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow. Local farmers shared their excitement about the knowledge gained, emphasizing how the skills acquired would positively impact their cocoa farming businesses. They highlighted the necessity of such training, noting that it would empower them to transition from traditional farming methods to more sustainable practices.

This initiative reflects Honourable Clement Ademola Akanni (OLOHUNWA)'s commitment to fostering economic development and social empowerment within the Constituencies. *Construction of a Block of Six Classrooms at College High School, Ila-Orangun: A Timely Intervention*

Sometime last year, a distress call was received from the principal of College High School, Ila-Orangun. Speaking with a sense of urgency, the principal highlighted the dire state of the school, which had been facing severe challenges for several years. One of the most pressing issues she mentioned was the need to relocate students to a nearby building for safety whenever it rained, as the current school infrastructure was no longer safe.

The school was reported to be in such a dilapidated condition that it was nearly impossible to accommodate senior students, primarily due to the lack of adequate classrooms. This issue was severely hindering the school’s ability to progress and maintain its enrollment.

Moved by the principal’s plight, Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola expressed deep empathy for the management and students of College High School. Although he acknowledged that he had limited influence over the 2023 Federal Budget, being new to the National Assembly, he assured the school that he would address their needs in the subsequent budget cycle.

True to his word, during the 2024 budget preparation, Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola succeeded in securing funding for the construction of a block of six classrooms. This timely intervention has brought immense relief to the school community, and the construction of the new building is now underway.

The principal's excitement and gratitude are immeasurable. She has fervently prayed for the success and well-being of Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola, recognizing the significant impact his efforts will have on the future of the school and its students.

_Constituency Update_

We are overjoyed to share the exciting news of the approval of a Skill Acquisition Training Centre by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). This center, as confirmed by the Directorate, is set to serve the people of Boripẹ, Boluwaduro, Ila, and Ifedayo Local Governments.

The establishment of this center holds significant implications for our communities. It means that our youths and women who are eager to learn various vocational skills no longer need to travel to Ilesha, Osogbo, or Ibadan to access certified training programs offered by the NDE. This local access will undoubtedly reduce the financial and logistical burdens previously faced by those seeking to enhance their skills and improve their livelihoods.

This remarkable achievement is the result of the relentless efforts and passionate commitment of Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola. We continue to pray that the Almighty grants him the strength, protection, and wisdom to achieve even greater feats for our constituency.

Clement Akanni Transforms Communities with Street Light Installations 19th September 2024 — Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency In a bid to enhance security and improve the quality of life within the Boluwaduro/Ifedayo/Ila Federal Constituency, the distinguished member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa), has successfully completed the installation of street lights in key communities. This project covers four major locations, significantly illuminating areas that were previously underserved. The beneficiary areas include 1. Oyi Ayegun in Ward 1, Ifedayo Local Government; 2. Ada Obalumo in Ward 2, Ifedayo Local Government; 3. Ejigbo Orangun in Ila Local Government; 4. Isinmi Olotu in Ward 3, Ifedayo Local Government. This initiative is part of Hon. *Constituency Updates:* *Construction of a Block of Six Classrooms at College High School, Ila-Orangun: A Timely Intervention* Sometime last year, a distress call was received from the principal of College High School, Ila-Orangun. Speaking with a sense of urgency, the principal highlighted the dire state of the school, which had been facing severe challenges for several years. One of the most pressing issues she mentioned was the need to relocate students to a nearby building for safety whenever it rained, as the current school infrastructure was no longer safe. The school was reported to be in such a dilapidated condition that it was nearly impossible to accommodate senior students, primarily due to the lack of adequate classrooms. This issue was severely hindering the school’s ability to progress and maintain its enrollment. Moved by the principal’s plight, Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola expressed deep empathy for the management and students of College High School. Although he acknowledged that he had limited influence over the 2023 Federal Budget, being new to the National Assembly, he assured the school that he would address their needs in the subsequent budget cycle. True to his word, during the 2024 budget preparation, Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola succeeded in securing funding for the construction of a block of six classrooms. This timely intervention has brought immense relief to the school community, and the construction of the new building is now underway. The principal's excitement and gratitude are immeasurable.
