Here's one from the Functional Breaks label that I believe was started by Graham Gray, a.k.a. the very talented Spoon Wizard. This is a remix done by Will White, who is known for his work in the group Propellerheads. He also has some cool projects that he was involved with worth checking out. The original of Spoonkey is also worth listening too if you haven't heard it, enjoy!
...the way that i understand it...this is just one example of the awesome power that created the whole planet.

Officially hit the six year marker today, here's another mix with a bit more 'boots & cats' ranging from trance, techno & ambient. A few updates below...

Proud to say that I am in the works of finalizing the first vinyl release for the channel, which will include four past uploads (more on those to be announced in the future). But can say some of the uploads were well sought after so it will be nice to see them on wax/be reissued and I am sure it will make many happy.

Secondly, I have put down a deposit to purchase a collection of about 4-6 thousand records that came from an old record store. Luckily it was specifically electronic music from the 90s/00's, which as you know is what I am after. I still do not know the exact number but will update on Instagram/Facebook when they are purchased (expecting these mid to end of September). I will also finally activate the Discogs page so I can start selling from that collection as well as from previous collections.

Lastly, in order to partially fund both the vinyl release & collection purchase, I have made some merchandise (hats/bucket hats/shirts/slip mats) that I will put up for sale for any of those who would like to purchase some/fund upcoming projects.

I appreciate everyone who has supported the channel these past few years and hope everyone is enjoying what is left of the summer. I look forward to updating you all in the upcoming weeks on the vinyl release, collection, & merch, enjoy! :)

A little intermission until the next upload/announcement that I found at a flea market. This one comes from a U.S. producer named Anthony Depula, who sadly passed away in 2009, but was extremely talented. For those interested in hip hop/instrumentals, he has a ton of credits if you want to go down a rabbit hole. Wishing everyone a great weekend, enjoy!

P.S. Here's a little history that was found in the comment section for the release.

"Culled from the streets of Trenton which lies halfway between NY and Philly these eight tracks formed the first grand central release. Tony is the maestro of the Emu sp1200 drum machine apiece of kit that first surfaced in the mid eighties and is one of the defining samplers of eighties hip hop. Tony mixes raucously loud drums with thick underwater bass lines and still generates a lot of soul in his recordings. This EP came about after a meeting in the Trenton ghetto overlooked by two fifteen stone Akita Japanese fighting dogs and ended with a bizarre and dangerous bus journey through Newark".

By the end of this month it will have been six years that the channel has been around, time's flying. Here's a little mix to slow it down a bit for those that need it.

Thank you endlessly to those who have supported the channel and to all those I've conversed with over the years. Will probably disconnect a bit for the rest of August to enjoy the rest of the summer before it flies by. I have some exciting developments in the works so I will update on the socials once they start to come together.

Thank you all again for cruising along.

six years (almost) & counting, thanks for sticking aroundFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theproudmistress/Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/theproudmistr...

An easy one for your Sunday listening from an obscure one-off label based out of the U.K. The artist is called Quadruple and the record came out some time in 1991 but that is pretty much all there is to it. The pressing was not that loud & had some surface noise even though it was a clean/mint copy so apologies for the low volume/surface noise, enjoy!

Traveling to Europa with this short lived label based out of the U.S. called Dementia Records. There are two edits of the track, the A side being more of a breakbeat/electro version of the B side. The producer behind Jupiter Project also seems to be behind Niche (on the label) and goes by the name Mouse. The track is interesting, with a long build up which ties up all the elements at the end of the track. I'm not sure if there were more than two releases from the label as the catalogue numbers go from 00001 to 00005, maybe the others are out there somewhere...enjoy!

Warning, we are the Digital Pimps and we have a message. Here's a short lived breakbeat release from a U.S. label called Luscious Records. There isn't much info on it but it appears to be related to Hector Fonseca as his name (Fonseca Music) is written on the artwork. He was also producing/remixing during those years so the label/artist may be associated with him, enjoy!

Nice piano choon from the artist Toxic, a.k.a. Dennis Harinck. This comes from a rather short-lived Dutch label called Laser Squad Records, which is a sublabel of Combined Forces. There seems to be plenty to dig through on Combined Forces' Discogs, whether it is the sublabels or the parent label Cloud 9 Dance, happy digging & enjoy!

Got in contact with a guy who produced Florida breaks/electro in the 90s/early 00s and asked him about reissuing/releasing unreleased tracks. He responded that the sound is "outdated" and does not think there is an interest for this style of music. I wanted to post this to see everyones reactions about this track and hopefully it will convince him to release/reissue his stuff. Let me know what you all think.

Merry Christmas! Here's one more from the Saracen Escape E.P. to officially end the year. This one is my favorite from the release, as it reminds me a bit of the Deep² ‎– Sphere upload from long ago. I'll attach below the same message from yesterday's upload to anyone who did not see, have a good rest of the year everyone!

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday and rest of the year, and hopefully 2022 brings some better days/parties. Thanks again for supporting the channel and for all the engagement that it's brought. The state of the world these last two years + the many days of isolation have been mentally draining for so many, including myself, but it has always been a blessing to have the music, this channel, and the countless conversations regarding it from like-minded people from all over the world who support the channel. It really has made these last two years bearable.
Again, I really thank all the people who support it and who appreciate the content that is put out, it really means a lot.

Here's to another year of doing in 2022, cheers!

Finishing off the year with one from Saracen, a.k.a. José Gross. The release is off, from what I believe, is his label The Recording Workshop which is based out of the U.K.

Here's one for your Sunday listening pleasure, a sort of intermission between the last upload & the next to come. This one's off a sublabel of Silent Records called Furnace Records based out of the U.S. The B side has a remix from Heavenly Music Corporation, a.k.a. Kim Cascone, who is the founder of Silent Records. For those into more experimental, ambient, etc. you can check the Bandcamp of Silent Records to find plenty of digital releases, enjoy!
