Muted Trax is a unique musical vision that truly represents New York City’s diverse alter egos. On one side, the deep and soulful sounds of New York house – uplifting, sublime vocals and spiritual, instrumental tracks. On the flip side, energizing beats and pulsating rhythms to power a modern city that never sleeps. Behind the music is label founder, DJ Mike Dominico. Born and raised in Manhattan, Mike began his professional career in 1989 at NYC's legendary club, Heartbreak. Other residencies have included The Palladium, Club Morrissey, Webster Hall, Rebar, Cream, The Roxy and Lot 61. In 1999, he joined forces with Andre Mullgrav, and as “D.MD” produced remixes to include Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud" and "I'm Real" for Sony Music, as well as an acclaimed white label of Michael Jackson's "Butterflies. Since 2002, Mike has been a solo producer and Muted Trax provides the outlet for his prolific musical offerings. Mike is assisted at the label by Shawn Christopher. A professional DJ who has played worldwide and has also worked in every aspect of the music industry in New York City and abroad, from retail sales (Vinylmania Records), A&R Co-ordination (Jellybean Recordings, Physical Graffiti-Strictly Rhythm Music Group), label sales & promotions (Jellybean Recordings), distribution (Downtown 161) and sound engineering (Trackdown Scoring Stage, Sydney Australia, for the Academy Award winning movie “Happy Feet”).
