• Eddie Rey hails from the San Antonio/Austin Texas area. Professionally trained at the age of 13, Eddie Rey was versed in sight and ear training through middle and high school guidance as well as personal instruction. Accepted into the A Band -symphonic and marching as a freshman in High School, Eddie Rey rose to the top of his field as a drummer and bassist in stage band and symphonic while in High School. Upon completion of High School, at the age of seventeen Eddie Rey relocated to Laredo Texas and began working as a professional musician giging six nights a week in a cover band playing percussion and keyboards under the heading "Rags."
• Eddie Rey was signed to The Sound Idea recording studio at the age of eighteen as a studio musician/composer. There he composed original music and jingles for the recording studio. At the age of twenty Eddie Rey relocated to Los Angeles California and worked as a session player and toured with different groups for many years. He relocated back to the San Antonio/Austin scene a decade later and set foot in San Antonio, Texas where he built and ran Dungin Studios. Eddie Rey was part owner of a live music club in San Antonio with Live original music seven nights a week, supporting live original music for the area, as well as signing original acts to Indie labels.
• Eddie Rey is versed and accomplished in the following instruments or skills; Trained as a symphonic/marching/stage band drummer /bassist -rhythm guitarist – keyboardist, arrangements, vocals - lead and harmony - song writer – Session Musician - Audio Engineering - Producing and Audio Mastering.
• Eddie Rey grew up with the likes of many musical legends such as; Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter and many others. There he developed his skills in the melting pot of the Austin/San Antonio music scene and has since shared the stage with various artists from: Cheap Trick, Nazareth, Jartse Tuominen major solo artist from Finland, Dick Wagner songwriter/guitarist for Alice Cooper, Motor Head, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Legs Diamond – Ian Moore and many more.
• Eddie Rey has also performed with the Legendary Clifford Scott "H***y Tonk", Bo Diddley, Metal Church/Reverend's Dave Wayne, and Jeff Lauber's Fusion Band. Eddie Rey has performed with such legends as Augue Meyers and Freddy Fender later members of The Texas Tornados with Doug Sahm and Flaco Jimenez. Eddie Rey was bassist for the legendary Steve Jordan "the Jimi Hendrix of the accordion" and was a session musician on many engineered projects such as REV and By- fist. As a seasoned session player/writer, Eddie Rey has many years of experience in the studio as well as live on stage. Eddie has been a professional musician for 30 years and delivers his unmistakable bass signature lines on his 6 string bass guitar and powerful vocals. His influences include Rush, Stanley Clark, Glen Hughes, Jaco Pastorious, NIN and UK and all credit for Eddie Rey’s "soulful" voice is credited to one man and that man is Glen Hughes, along with a plethora of vocal influences from a cross section of genres.
• Eddie is the owner of Dungin Studios and is the audio engineer and producer. Eddie's last tour was with Dave Wayne the original lead singer for Metal Church and Reverend as the tour’s live sound engineer. Eddie Rey has engineered and produced numerous bands along with working on his fourth CD release. Stay tuned for Eddie’s new CD entitled "Hybricity" soon to be released. Eddie Rey is a signed recording artist with B.E.G Records. Eddie Rey is currently attends the Nashville Songwriters Association meetings. Eddie Rey resides in St. Petersburg Florida and uses Ibanez 5 and 6 string basses, Steinberger 4 string bass and SWR and Yorkshire bass equipment. Dean Guitars and Crate Guitar Amps.
