The Birdies Film Festival, founded in 2011 by students and graduates of Kingston University aims to give young people the opportunity to showcase their films, whilst providing a unique opportunity to network with Film Professionals. Operating under the umbrella of The International Youth Arts Festival, and with the support and guidance from The Birds Eye Film Festival and Hollywood producer Kevin

Loader, The Birdies team put together a hugely successful first Festival in July 2011. The event was received incredibly well by all those who attended and participated. Young film-makers (up to the age of 26) compete in 5 categories-
Animation
Alternative / Experimental
Comedy
Documentary
& Drama

In addition, in 2013 we introduced the very special "The Birdies Audience Award" where the audience on the big night decides which film they find the most captivating!
