The Alfalfafield Daily original posts on Canadian politics, activism, and resistance against the state.

The Alfalfafield is a source of critical analysis of the most important ongoing issues in Canadian politics and activism. Major focusses include police brutality and corruption, the surveillance state, pipeline resistance and land defence, the erosion of sovereignty, media criticism, and bashing the (Neo)Liberal government. If you're looking for the latest breaking news, you've come to the wrong p

lace - I work full time and trying to chase the news cycle on top of that is a fool's errand. What I specialize in is more in-depth comprehensive analysis and deep digging into important stories that aren't getting enough attention from the mainstream media. The Alfalfafield is a one-man operation producing daily original articles offering insights into the stories that are shaping our society. Posting schedule:

ICYMI MONDAY: In which we examine an important story which was gobbled up by the news cycle and didn't get the attention it deserved. OFF-TOPIC TUESDAY: In which I write about whatever the hell I want that I couldn't squeeze into any of the other daily themes. WEDNESDAY'S WEEK IN REVIEW: Wednesday may seem an odd day to do a week in review post, but if you don't like it, you can start your own blog. A run-down of links to some of the most important stories from the past week which I wasn't able to get around to writing about. THROWBACK THURSDAY: With an archive of nearly two hundred original posts and counting, I've racked up some quality posts, and some of them are just as relevant as ever - so I give 'em a second chance at life. FALLACY FRIDAY is devoted to pointing out fallacious and illogical news coverage or preposterous and hypocritical statements by public figures. SOLIDARITY SATURDAY is my weekly opportunity to give props and respect to people fighting the good fight, often outside of the spotlight. People are fighting for all kinds of rights and causes all the freaking time and it usually gets drowned in a sea of petty personal politics and celebrity scandals. I personally feel like the more attention activists get, the better off we’ll all be. NATIONAL SECURITY SUNDAY is devoted to holding the RCMP, the military, and the surveillance agencies to account.
