Originally from Washington State, Sandy served with The United States Air Force Pipe Band in Washington D.C., and was the Pipe-Major of the Band for eight years. As a member of the USAF Pipe Band he played for Presidents and Heads of State. Kennedy. After retiring from the Air Force in 1977 he assumed the duties of Director of Piping and Drumming at the Military College of South Carolina, The Cita

del. During his tenure the Citadel Pipe Band gained a local and worldwide reputation. They received a prestigious invitation to perform at Edinburgh Tattoo in 1991. Sandy retired from the Citadel in 2003, after 25 years of service. He continues to teach piping to one and all, as well as judge piping competitions around the country. The Sandy Jones Invitational commemorates Sandy's dedication and many contributions to piping and drumming education, performance and excellence. The Pipe-Major Sandy Jones Invitational is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Donations are usually tax-deductable, and are greatly appreciated. Contact Info:
