This makes me sick to my stomach. My heart breaks for the victims and their families. Senseless violence against innocent children two days before their summer break.

A reported 21 people were killed in an attack by a lone gunman at an elementary school in the small town of Uvalde, Texas. At least 19 students and two adults were among the casualties.

I've always felt privileged for all the amazing opportunities my job(s) presented me. This one ranks at the top of the list. I organized a panel discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion made up of Chief Human Resources Officers from some of the country's most well-known sports orgs. I wish I could be BFFs with all four of these people because they are truly incredible human beings. This May they will join more than 80 other Atlanta-based CHROs of $1B+ companies to present on this topic.

CAREER ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Thrilled to announce I accepted a position as a Content Manager for Evanta, a Gartner company. I enthusiastically look forward to this next chapter in my professional development. Thank you to the handful of team members who reached out to extend a warm welcome.

As I hang up the IFB in my journalism career, I reflect on how tremendously thankful I am for my mentors and peers. In my first television news market, work from my colleagues and I earned an Emmy. By my mid-twenties, I worked at the national-level for one of the most productive units in an international media company. I met incredibly hardworking, supportive people along the journey. I feel indebted to the industry and leaders who put their faith in a girl from Kansas.

I knew 2021 would be a busy year when I opted to pursue an MBA. The first few months consisted of applying for financial aid (took a few tries to remember that password), training for another half marathon, and planning my wedding. On the list of proud accomplishments for the past year, those sit atop—alongside several other fitness, career, and personal development goals.

What’s next for 2022?

A new career to start. The end of a tremendously successful year also brought an abrupt and unexpected end to my journey with ViacomCBS as the Digital News Anchor. I poured every ounce of myself into that role every day and I remain incredibly proud of the tremendous work our small team accomplished. Special thanks to the hard-working group of talented professionals surrounding me for the past two and a half years.

I’m the first person to raise my hand when an opportunity presents itself. Despite total uncertainty surrounding my next chapter, I feel incredibly enthusiastic and energized to take on the next challenge—whatever it may be!
