To our participants and community,

It is with utmost regret for us to announce that the Ateneo Video Open (AVO) 2025 will no longer push through. Such a decision was made after a careful evaluation by the AVO Core Team and the Loyola Film Circle Executive Board.

The festival faced significant challenges in terms of resources and logistics. Moving forward with these limitations would have compromised not only the scale and quality of the event, but also the fairness and integrity of the experience we envisioned for all participants. As an intercollegiate platform, AVO has always sought to provide opportunities that honor the creative ambitions of our participants. Continuing under the existing constraints would not have allowed us to meet these standards in good faith. We deeply apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this brings, especially to our participants outside Ateneo who have already invested time and effort in their films. Your trust means a great deal to us, and it is with genuine sadness that we can no longer provide the platform we initially envisioned for AVO 2025.

Although this year’s festival is cancelled, the essence of the event, the celebration of student filmmaking, remains at the heart of Ateneo Video Open. We are committed to strengthening our foundation and refining our processes so that future editions of the festival can be more sustainable and truly worthy of your stories.

If you have any concerns, or have not received our email regarding the refund process, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or through our official page.

Signed,
Ateneo Video Open 2025 Core Team

Let’s start this year with a very BIG REVELATION! 👀

Introducing this year’s theme for Ateneo Video Open 2024 — "Echoes and Embers: The Unseen, The Unheard, The Unfelt."

This theme calls upon storytellers to illuminate narratives that dwell in the shadows—stories of the marginalized, the silenced, and those whose experiences lie on the fringes of societal focus.

Together, let’s transform echoes into resonant calls and embers into blazing fires of change 🔥 ✊
